Great fixture for the price. Does the job in a horse barn. Easy to assemble and install. Half the cost of an equivalent T5 fixture when used in a warm environment .

This is the flimsiest piece of junk I've ever seen! Only after I placed the internet order, did I read the bad reviews on this product. The metal pan that the bulbs and ballast are mounted to, is not assembled when it arrived in the box. The housing base is plastic and only two clips allow you to mount the flimsy metal pan to the base. One of the plastic mounting clips was broken on arrival, so I couldn't mount it anyway. This was an internet order, but I was able to take it back for a refund at a Home Depot store, no problems whatsoever. This whole fixture is flimsy plastic and a total waste of money. GREAT SERVICE, though.

I bought 14 of these lighting fixtures for my basement wood shop. My goal was to have a high lighting level using fixtures that provided a level of protection against contact with things I may be moving around in the shop, like pieces of wood. The fixtures perform well, look great. There were two negatives that I found, neither of which would keep me from buying more. The conduit knockout is only on one end of the molded plastic housing and it seemed to be metric. I was not able to install 1/2" trade size fittings. The unit is provided with a fitting to maintain its weatherproof rating, but I did not want or need to use this fitting. The second negative was that the ballast and lampholders are mounted to the cover plate, which is removed when you mount the housing with the provided clips. This arrangement is different from traditional fixtures that have the ballast and lampholders mounted to the housing. This difference really can into play when I started wiring. It is necessary to support the cover plate while you connect all the wiring. I found it very cumbersome, being on a step ladder while trying to accomplish this.

I'm with the previous reviewer on this one. I ordered 8 of these to put in a wet environment building. I knew when I un-packaged them what I was in for. They are cheap. I saw why they were only $45/each. You have to handle these things with kid gloves when assembling and installing. We broke at least 5 clips when latching them together. So each time you replace bulbs you can probably count on breaking the flimsy plastic latches. One positive...they put out good light! Do yourself a favor and spend your money on quality. You won't regret it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by pinwizard DONT" buy it
Don't listen to any of the other reviews, I am a electrical contractor for 40 years and this is the worst fixture I ever installed. I was going to bring it back in fear the customer would see how cheap and poorly made it was buy didn't have enough time to get others. DON'T BUY THIS. It doesn't go together well at all and the cheap metal bends when trying to put together, the plastic housing cracked when I tried to drill a small hole in it. If you want something sub-standard then buy it but spend a few dollars more and get something good.

I installed 3 of these lights in my barn. The lamp sockets do not seem very sturdy but all 3 fixtures snapped together and worked the 1st time. Once the fixture is fully assembled it appears to be reasonably solid. I also like the snap-in clips that hold the fixture although I would be concerned using them on just drywall. The lights turn on quickly and are quiet compared to the old mag-ballast fixtures. I don't yet know how they will perform in cold conditions.
On a related note, it's ridiculous that all hardware stores charge about 10 for a 16/3 pig-tail (needed for these lights).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jadeka Pretty nice setup
Impressed with how it is packed, and fits together. It doesn't appear it should fit in the box it ships in but does really nicely. Installation was simple. Wiring setup was easy, screw down block. These are homeowner grade, so far they have worked well, and if they continue to work well I will get more.
My only uncertainty is the two clips that hold the light up. They seem to be secure, but I may wrap a bungee cord around them just in case (at least one I will probably hit with a board from time to time.)
