I purchased this 4-lamp fixture from Home Depot last year and loved it's light output and color of the light. "Discontinued" what's up?

We were setting up a garage work shop. I was testing different fixtures for light output and color. We tried LED 4ft single bulb (spaced close together), 8ft unit with 2 pairs of four foot double T-8 bulbs (4 bulbs per eight foot fixture) and a single 4ft four bulb High Output 54-watt T-5 fixture.
We lit the same size floor area from a ten foot ceiling with each fixture. The 4ft four bulb High Output 54-watt fixture clearly won. It produced brighter, more even light, and the best color of the group. Colors across the spectrum under the light appear well balanced unlike many fluorescent lights that offer soft warms or harsh cold bluish hues.
Nine months later the unit began shutting-off the breaker. I could not fine the source of the problem. We looked for broken wires, shorts, replaced wiring from power panel in the garage to the unit with no success.
1) Is there a problem with the design of the unit?
2) Does this unit have a magnetic ballast and if so could replacing it with an electronic ballast solve the problem?
3) If the problem can be resolved I would like to purchase six more units, but noticed that Home Depot show the units as "Discontinued" which means what? A) Units are faulty and no longer made or B) Home Depot is no longer going to carry them?
Appreciate your help,
Karl
