Yes, you'll need a exterior / outside extinction cord. The blower has two prong plug in so if you get a 3 prong extention cord, you'll need an adaptor to plug in from 3 prong to 2 prong.

The housing is all plastic, So it doesn't need a 3rd casing ground pin. The 2 prong male plug on the blower is polarized (one prong wider than the other) which is the neutral (grounded) side. That is as safe as necessary for this item. This 2 prong male plug will plug directly into any 3 prong extension cord correctly & safely. It will operate fine & safe. No, The pigtail cord is only 6 " long. Just enough to plug into an extension cord that does not come with it. The cord is long enough to pass through a cord holder tab on the back that keeps the extension cord from coming disconnected while in use. It works perfectly. GOOD MODEL ! I have one.

Thank you, Cheryl. It should not state anywhere that it has a retractable cord as this function is not available with this blower/sweeper. This unit also does not come with a cord as you would need to purchase this piece.

The cord on the blower is only a couple of inches long. If necessary, get an employee in Home Depot to help you get a 3 prong extinction cord that is made for outside use. As for a retractable cord, Home Depot will assist you.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 185 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Light weight and easy to use! It was super light weight and easy to use for a petite female like me. The only thing that bothers me a little is, it makes a loud noise and we live in a quiet neighborhood (I guess most of leaf blowers are generally loud). Other than that, price is affordable compare to expensive leaf blower. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best blower I ever had! This blower is small and lightweight, easy to use and store. I keep it behind the grill, so small you hardly see it. Then, blooee! Grab it, blow, and stash it back. We have a ton of leaves, constantly falling. I'm 73 years old and not so strong anymore, so EASY means a lot. It's powerful, too. Not to mention cheap! I bought another one for the pool area. September 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice & light and good power too. I have painful back and can not carry anything heavy. this has worked out well! September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beast mode As a consummate fan of the underdog this lil guy literally blew me away! First glance it looks like a child's toy but after using it I can't believe it's this awesome for 32$ and its small so it's no biggie literally lol to use or store! Had it 2 years now use it at least once a month and still strong! August 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GOOD BUY GOOD VALUE FOR PRICE. NOT AS HIGH SPEED AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED, BUT FOR THE PRICE IT WAS OK. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Compact leaf blower. Very nice, compact and most of all do the job ( small patio) August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Blower! Expect big power from this small and lightweight blower, at a lightweight price! Works better than some of the heavy gas powered blowers I've tried. Love it, try it out and you will be hooked. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good decision We recently moved into a home with a small back yard. There are many trees so leaves fall all the time. This little, lightweight tool is PERFECT. The high/low settings are good - it packs a lot more power than I expected, it's easy to use and not too noisy. The one thing they could have added is a shoulder strap, but it's no biggie. I'm glad I made this purchase. August 30, 2016
