I just purchased the hedge trimmer yesterday. I plugged in and it would not turn on. Is there something I am forgetting to do? Note: I did press both the release button and the power button.

Good morning Friend! About the question for your hedge trimmer, You will have to depress the the thumb button prior to depressing the trigger. I have been using my trimmer for quite some time and it is very sharp and holding up quite well. I cut hedge bushes as well as azaleas. hope you will enjoy using this trimmer for quite some time as I do. thank you Aubrey Gibbs

Thank you, Vernie. To answer your question, no. This unit is an electric unit. You would need a power cord only. This unit is not designed to accept batteries.

Will this work for trimming Yucca trees? The leaves aren't thick but kind of stringy . I didn't know if it would gum up

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 78 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by No Frills Small Electric Hedge Trimmer I had been trimming my small bushes with a hand pruner that was taking me a couple of hours to trim each bush along with hand cramping. I needed an inexpensive electric or battery operated trimmer to improve the amount of trimming time and alleviate my hand cramping and this trimmer met my needs. I can now trim 4 bushes in the same amount of time I used to trim one bush, and without my hand cramping. The trimmer is easy to hold and simple to operate but has no additional features such as varying blades or speeds and is limited only up to 3/8 in. cutting capacity. It seems sturdy enough and has a 2 year warranty. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works excellent and great price It was very affordable and works excellent. I have used it to do several large cleanup jobs which involved trimming long hedges and misc plants. It cut well, lightweight and easy to use. Also very sharp and powerful. The only thing I didnt like was that it doesnt have the ability to lock in the on position. The button has to be held for the duration. Overall it was great. Pic attached of one project I did with it. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PERFECT IT WAS EASY TO USE AND DID A GREAT JOB FOR TRIMMING THE BUSHES IN MY YARD.... October 18, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Gets the job done Cheaper than renting. Have to do yard work in the house I rent. It's very light, & feels cheep, but trimmed the 20 feet of shrubs well. I would buy something a little better for a few dollars more if it was my own house. October 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for what I needed Real easy to use and the right size for what I have to use it forl September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It trimmed with ease. The plug needs an adapter for multi head plugs. The plug head is a straight in plug. Not feasible for todays multi head extension cords. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hedged Worked very well forntge price.used immediately great simple September 6, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fair performance for the price Had one that I used for two years and loved it, for the price. When I broke the blade on a chain link fence could not easily find replacement parts. But I did buy another one....can't beat the performance for the price. August 31, 2016
