Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 32 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good mower / bad battery (with a solution) Like almost everyone else who wrote a review, my battery for this unit died after 25 months despite following all instructions for its care. Also like you, I could not find a replacement and Home Depot online is out of stock. I found a workable solution: I went to my local specialized battery store and the technician replaced the existing 2 twelve volt batteries inside the case with two new and much better quality 12 volts. These should last me another 3 to 5 years with proper care. As it turns out, the batteries that came with the unit were extremely low quality. Cost of new batteries was 100. Despite finding a solution, I still would not recommend this product because of batteries failure. July 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Battery Dies after warranty expires WARNING!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER; YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!! There are two diametrically opposite reviews of this mower. The first are obviously written by people who have owned it for less than two seasons. They like it. The second are written by people who had it for more than one season. They hate it. The reason is obvious. The mower carries a two year warranty -- EXCEPT FOR THE BATTERY! The battery is warranted for one year and that is exactly how long it lasts. The first winter I forgot to store the battery inside but to my amazement it worked fine anyway. The second year I remembered my mistake and stored it indoors. It never held a charge again! Moral? Either the battery thrives on abuse or it only lasts one year. You be the judge. May 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by things to know about batteries the best thing to do and lot of people don't do you have to remove the battery pack off of the mower after each time you finish cutting the grass and i dont know why but some chargers the current is to strong to charge those battery it kills them me i use a a genius car charger i charge the battery separately 2 12 volts for 24 volts and the current as to be under 1 amps better way for me to keep battery a long life. Rated 2 out of 5 by Unfortunate purchase We purchased this lawn mower 2 years ago, and, as instructed, stored the battery indoors. We have a very small lawn, but the battery no longer holds enough power to mow the entire lawn. We looked into purchasing a new battery, but cannot do it online, and buying one from a shop is as expensive as re-purchasing the mower. Unfortunately, we hadn't read reviews prior to purchase. Otherwise it is a great design, easy to start, and use. August 8, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do not buy this product... Bought this lawnmower in August 2011, the battery died for no reason this year, had taken care of the battery over winter. The mower being under warranty, I took it to a repair shop and was told that the battery is on back order and may take between 1 and 2 months to get a replacement unit. Unbelievable, the summer will be over by then. Why is the Home Depot still selling this mower? Read the reviews for the replacement HOMELITE Battery for UT13126 found on this site before you buy, these are the guys like me who have bought this lawn mower last year. August 22, 2012
