Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mowed Product falls short of longetivity. Must have very limited size of lawn.
Battery does not hold a charge for very long.
Rubber mat on the back is constantly breaking up.
The best feature is having a mower without plugging.

I have a Homelite rechargeable mower. Three weeks ago the charger stopped working. Emailed Homelite to find a replacement.
First you have to sign up for a secure website. Then they email you through that site - this isn't my brokerage or bank. They send me to another website. I send follow up email. They cut and paste the same email from before, sending me to another website.
That website then sends me to a third website, where I still can't find the charger.
I found one at Amazon - hopefully it works. It will be three weeks since charging during a cold snap. If this damaged the battery, I am taking the whole thing back for a refund.
I am also buying a gas powered string trimmer this spring - it won't be homelite.

Like almost everyone else who wrote a review, my battery for this unit died after 25 months despite following all instructions for its care. Also like you, I could not find a replacement and Home Depot online is out of stock. I found a workable solution: I went to my local specialized battery store and the technician replaced the existing 2 twelve volt batteries inside the case with two new and much better quality 12 volts. These should last me another 3 to 5 years with proper care. As it turns out, the batteries that came with the unit were extremely low quality. Cost of new batteries was 100. Despite finding a solution, I still would not recommend this product because of batteries failure.

DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER; YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!
There are two diametrically opposite reviews of this mower. The first are obviously written by people who have owned it for less than two seasons. They like it. The second are written by people who had it for more than one season. They hate it. The reason is obvious. The mower carries a two year warranty -- EXCEPT FOR THE BATTERY! The battery is warranted for one year and that is exactly how long it lasts. The first winter I forgot to store the battery inside but to my amazement it worked fine anyway. The second year I remembered my mistake and stored it indoors. It never held a charge again! Moral? Either the battery thrives on abuse or it only lasts one year. You be the judge.

I took the leap and went Green. I was quickly reminded why going Green doesn't work. The mower has pwoer from day one. But, even following the guidlines for charging the battery proved fruitless. The battery after one year last 10 seconds. I thought I would save money on gas but that was a joke. $100.00 a year for battery replacement exceeds the gas I would pay for.
On another note, the grass trap bag does not catch adequate clippings. Plus, the hole is small and a pain to empty.
-If you go electric, get one with a chord option. So you can finish the lawn when the battery dies.-

There is a 1 year warranty on the battery. The battery wouldn't hold a charge for long the next summer. Now at the end of the second summer the battery won't even charge. I liked the idea of a cordless, but won't buy a replacement battery for $100. I could hire someone to mow my lawn for that amount!
