Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 26 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for my RV I bought this to power my camper and it has the rv 30amp plug on it and not the twist lock as is pictured. so if you want the twist lock plugs you will need to get an adapter. It powers the A/C, fridge and TV all at the same time with no problems but that is pretty much all it can handle which is perfect for my needs. It seems to use alot of fuel but I have only ran it for about an hour so I cant tell for sure and it is a little noisy but after all it is a generator. It was very easy to assemble and they even included a quart of oil for the engine. It is a great buy at an unbeatable price so you cant go wrong. June 9, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Homelite 3000 generator - runs quietly I brought this generator in late May as it was the only thing I didn't have as back up in case of a power outage. Then last week - Hurricane Irene visited Richmond, VA and I had my back up power -- it started easily, didn't seem to use a lot of gas -- ran more quietly than I expected. It saved my freezer and frig food and I was able to watch directv -- tho in my kitchen for 4 days, 6 hours and 10 mins. I expect I'll get more daring about what additional things can be plugged in as I use the equipment in the future. For now, it worked wonderful and I was happy I had planned ahead and bought this generator! September 6, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product offers great benifits for use during or after storms ??? This item was purchased after huricane Irene. We lost power for five days and lost all foods in our frig. and large upright freezer. ($700 to $800) With this generator we hope that will not happen again. It arrived in short order and with-out any damage. Assembly was easy, which was great! I put the oil in and filled it with gas and to my amazement it started on the first pull! It is quite and stores easly in very little room. This is one of those things where I hope I never use it but its there if some thing happens! Ted in MA September 28, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hgca3000 good generator for back-up power a little noise could be quieter.but for what you pay its a good product. allways starts with the 1st or 2nd pull just remember to pull the choke and i highly rec you get a spare recoil starter there not that well built just dont pull to hard and it will be ok. and runs very well below 0 deg c. and like i said its a good product good price you can get 4 of these generators for the price of 1 high end generator. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Warranty is worthlessless I ran this new generator for about 35 hours over a 5 day period. It suddenly stopped working, so I took it to an authorized repair center. The push rod retainer had broken and the rockers were completely off. homelite refused to honor the dealer's request for reimbursement so I got stuck with the bill. Apparently internal part failure is not covered by the warranty. I spoke to a customer service and they said too bad, it's not covered. I AM DONE BUYING HOMELITE JUNK! December 12, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay away from this one! I bought this unit in September 2010. Just a few days before Hurricane Irene, I went to start it, gas was pouring out the bottom of the carbuerator. I had only used the generator for about one hour up to this point. It has now been 3 months waiting for a carbuerator, and the generator is still not useable. The people at Homelite were extremely rude, could not care less about fixing my generator. My advise, spend a little more money and get a Generac October 23, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not a bad machine for a cheap inport. I have owned other Homelite products as I know they can do the job when needed. This generator is just for emergencies, and could not handle the torture of being used daily as a "work" generator. Parts on it are not as quality as others. There is not even a manufacturers name on the engine. Brigs? Honda? Techumsun? Not in the least. Some knock off engine from China. I hope I get 300 hours out of it. September 27, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks Great! I haven't tried it yet. It's for emergency use for me. If I put oil in it and try it, then I have to drain the oil and gas until I really need it. I'd rather run the risk that it might not work while new and wait to use it until I need it, which may be soon or may not be for a decade, luck will tell. I assume it's average quality so that's how I'll rate it for now. October 29, 2011
