5,700-Watt Gasoline Powered Portable Generator is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great generator for the price. I lose power at my house everytime the wind blows so it was time for a portable generator. Although this generator doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some of the other higher priced generators, it does what I need it to. One of the things I felt where important is that the 4 pole 120/240 volt outlet puts out 30 amps versus 20 amps. This was important to me because I wanted to add a manual transfer switch to my house. I've only owned this generator for 3 weeks and we have already lost power twice for several hours each incident. With the transfer switch, I'm able to power every light in my house, ceiling fans, microwave, TV's, and furnace (this winter). The generator is easy to start, good on fuel, and easy to move around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best generator HD sells for the price!!! This generator is easily the best you can buy for the price. Sure Hondas may be better but to get the same power in a honda you are looking at 3x the price. This generator has a very, very high quality yamaha engine and that's what makes it a bargain. I wouldn't buy a generator with an off brand engine but a Yamaha engine at this price with a wheel kit how can you go wrong. Starts easy and plenty powerful. I converted mine to natural gas using a tri fuel kit. Took 30 minutes to install and this generator is absolutely ideal for the kit. Bolts right on with absolutely no frame or any other modifications required as many do. Once I converted it I drained all the fuel so I never have to worry about finding gas or having stale gas gum up the carb. Highly recommend this generator and the tri-fuel kit that you find online. Google it. Runs great on natural gas. Just make sure you have enough supply. Need about 105,000 BTUs which requires a 3/4 gas line. Pretty sure a 1/2 inch line won't do it. Great buy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOULD BE A GREAT DEAL IF YOU CAN GET IT.... This is a fantastic deal on a great generator. Yamaha motor, great warranty, great power. There is one catch though, you can't actually buy it from Home Depot....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bought ours during the great NE Ice storm of 2008. To date (Oct 2012) we have put 228 hrs of flawless operation on this machine. Saved thousands on food alone. Easy setup - Easy to start (1 pull) - Runs an average of 13-14 hrs on 7 gallons of gas. Only CON - A little loud. Highly rcommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good backup generator. Purchased mine in July 2012 just before the basic tornado tore thru the mountains here, 9 days without power.Dependable Yamaha motor,4 120 + a 220 outlet all with circut protection. Runs about 12 hours strong on 5 gals of gas, low oil shut down, ect. Great for overall general home use for emergency power, or a hunting camp.. As I researched, yes a bit noisy, but even though I live way up in the sticks, who in a suburban neighborhood would compain about noise during a major outage. Great buy for the money. If you are a contractor, working construction, spend 2-3 times the $ for a more quiet, powerfull and basic commercial variety. For an average homeowner, this is all you need then some. This will run all your basic needs during an outage or distance where power is needed to get a job done.No complaint, I am very happy with it.PS: Important fact, some may overlook, use only 4 cycle engine oil as shipped with, and "always add fuel stabilizer" as recommended with the fuel in the gas tank, so when time comes, it will start n run first pull. Old gas causes problems stored over time unused,it breaks down, gum's up the carb n lines ect.....Hope this was helpfull, ty.One last tip, add stabilizer to everything stored as this unit, weed eater, lawn tractor, chainsaw, ect.Hope this was a helpfull hint and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down the best generator for the money I got this generator for hurricane Isaac. It ran for four days straight. I powered two 8000 btu portable air conditioners, three door refrigerator/freezer, computers, microwave, lights, and etc. I basically powered everything except my full size a/c unit and the only reason I did not power that was because I didn't know how to hook it up at the time. For me it burned about 15 gallons of fuel per day. I am currently putting the tri fuel system on it so that I can use natural gas instead of gasoline. The first Homelite/Yamaha generator I bought had a problem. For whatever reason the Yamaha motor would not turn over. I think it was seized up. I returned it and was reluctant to exchange it for the same type but I did and have had no problems with this one. FYI - This generator has the exact same motor and generator as the RIDGID 5700-Watt Yamaha 301cc Portable Generator but costs $129 less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good buy! I am the worst when is comes to researching stuff. I look at all the in's and out's of most products. I bought this generator a year ago, and it has worked without fail thus far. 1 or 2 pulls and it starts right up. The only issue I had was, the low oil indicator light is tucked underneath, instead of being mounted through the side panel, which all I did was drill a small hole, and put the light through it. Other than that, this is a quality generator, with a Yamaha engine, a plus in my book. I have over and over recommended this generator. I would prefer a Honda, but those are 3 times the price! It was a no brainer for me on this one. I highly recommend this generator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is a great generator Bought this generator during an ice storm ran it for 2 weeks straight with no problems. This generator ran for 13 to 14 hours on a tank of gas. The only problem was a faulty fuel shut off valve that had to be fixed. I just found out that there is a recall on the gas cap for this generator. This generator should be home depots mainstay. They don't carry it in the store anymore only on the internet. That's a shame!
