I'll never know if this Homelite electric chainsaw has decent features or not. When I received the carton there were oil stains all over. When I opened the carton, the pieces were loose in the box. The carton had obviously been bounced around. Again there were oil stains everywhere, including throughout the manual. The chain looked used.. The casing was banged up. I mean remanufactured is one thing. I have never purchased a remanufactured piece of equipment that actually looked used. Thank goodness for Home Depot's return policy. I took it to the local store the next business day and got a full refund. I thought about trying again, but opened a Home Depot credit account and got the new one of the same model for $5..00 more.

The drill is excellent, simple to assemble and operate cuts well. love the automatic oiling feature.
The only thing i would like to add is the saw didnt work at first because i had the chain set up going the wrong way. Must look at diagram to get it on right. The other thing is the chain comes off from time to time and it takes time to reassemble. Overall great product

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by monkeldad great Product
I bought this saw a few months ago and just got a chance to use it. The trees were over 100 ft aways from electric so I tired to use my gas saw but like normal they would not start.
My concern was i would over heat the motor since i only had 18g extension cords, (2 @ 18 gauge + 1@ 12gauge)
But I'm happy to say that it cut great and we did this for hours!
Note: yes the chain will come off if you dont watch it, but the design is great to reattach it.no tools required.
Since it is lighter weight than the gas saw I was able to carry it up the ladder and get to the branch. At one point the blade got suck when the tree started to break off and it held up and did not get bent.
so YES I love the saw!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JackPineSavage Good value - does the job quietly.
Came unassembled with everything needed. Packaging had oil spots on it from the saw, but otherwise all was in order. Had to buy some bar oil. Assembly was easy. Unit runs quietly (good for suburban homes) and cuts like any chain saw. Made fast work of an afternoon project.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dissappointed The Product was great
The 1st one I had flew into pieces when I went to make my 5th cut. Got another one and the chain was installed wrong so it wouldn't cut. Took it back and they reinstalled the chain. Went to use it and the chain fell off. I'm returning it today. Can't blame the product. It's comfortable to handle & would be great if somebody knew what they were doing to assemble it. I am a 78 yr. old that can run a chain saw but can't install the chain. I feel Home Depot let me down on this one as I really wanted & needed that chain saw.

This is a good saw for the price. It went through hard wood that I needed it to with no problems. Easy to use.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Silverback Does the job for the price, can't complain
I took down a 25 foot tree 14 inches through and cut it up into 18 inch lengths. I installed the bar and chain, set the tension and made sure the bar was securely tightened. When I finished I checked the chain tension. It was fine. The chain never came off. Some of the reviews complained of the chain repeatedly coming off. Since mine didn't I think maybe the bar wasn't secured tight enough. These saws are known to leak out bar oil in storage so I used small amounts and refilled frequently, so when I finished the reservoir was empty. Over all very pleased with this saw.
