This works just as well as the name brand units costing several times more. It's a bit cruder in "fit and finish", but in practice it works just the same, IMO. I have used it several times at home to clear toilet clogs. The curved guide pipe is to keep the bulb and cable from scratching the visible part of the porcelain bowl and from scratching the first part of the trap inside the bowl. I have had this work very well for me even when I say to myself "this will never work, but I'll give it a shot anyway." Please read and follow the (very simple) instructions. It's worth taking the time for this - avoids damaging the bowl!

There was nothing to assemble so the instructions made it very easy to use. Once it was in place all I had to do was turn the handle and wow! I saw the water going down. Then with a couple of plunges, the clog was gone! This auger saved me a couple of hundred dollars! Whew! Everyone should have one of these things. It really works!

I bought this because of the price. Absolutely useless. The coiled part is super cheap. I began slowly twisting the handle and the entire coil wrapped around itself. Tried several times watched numerous videos and this last time the coil snapped. Had to stick my hand as far down the toilet as possible to pull the snapped piece out. Do not recommend

This was all that I needed to remove a nuisance obstruction. It was not physically clogged but something was restricting the outlet of the bowl. This took care of it with no problem at all.

Product was exactly as advertised, but was unable to even start clearing clog, called plumber, he had the same tool, only in a commercially sized version. He said Home Depot carries for about $60.00, but his auger really worked well. I just spent money I didn't need to for a tool.

So this is the tool you need if your toilet is really clogged. I just couldn't get any plunger to fit my new toilets well enough to not splash back out when compressed, what a mess. Besides, I eventually ran into a situation where a kid put something down the toilet that was never going to make it and this tool was able to spear it and pull it back out. Who knew someone would throw a Tassimo coffee disc down the toilet! So this snake did the trick and would frankly handle any problem thrown at it, and without scratching the bowl. After use I rinsed it off and sprayed with WD40 per the instructions, it awaits in the garage for the next emergency.

Much saner than the $176. cost of Len the Plumber. And, Len's clear lasted less than 24 hours. After using the toilet auger, as directed, the toilet is still clear...
