21 in. Gas Push Mower-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 147.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from expensive but most of the time you get what you pay for Shipped very quickly directly to my home. Packed very well without any damage. Raised handles and tightened wing nuts was all assembly required. Make sure you remove the oil check stick and turn the mower on it's side and remove any oil left in mower before before adding supplied oil. You can use entire bottle supplied without danger of overfilling. Filled with gas and started on first pull. Mows very well and starts first pull every time. You can buy five or six lawn mowers in a lifetime or you can buy one or two Honda's. I have worked on lawn equipment all my life and nobody makes a better motor than Honda. Change the oil and sharpen the blade every year and keep it reasonably clean and it will last many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great engine & performance / reliabilty This is my second one of these. I bought the first in April 1999, & after 13 years the engine starts flawlessly on the first pull, but the deck is rusting to where mower is no longer usuable. I received the new one from HD, just 3 days after ordering it online. Straighten the handle bars, tighten, add the included bottle of oil, gas it up & it started on first pull. It is identical to my 1999 model except the stickers/look & such have changed. I hope this one will last 13/14 years as well. Would highly recommend this HONDA push mower. Little over priced but I suppose you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth the extra money compared to other brands Ordered this mower to be delivered to my home, since the local Home Depot did not carry this non self-propelled mower in stock. Delivered to my home with no damage as some other reviewers have reported. Very easy to unpack. Just added the included engine oil and filled with gas and started on the first pull! Have already used the mower twice. Appears to be typical excellent Honda quality. Engine extremely quiet with plenty of power. About 200 dollars more than the cheap ones at discount stores, but my previous mower lasted only two years. You really do get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed Owned mine for five years and it's great for my needs (smaller yard, would also be great for a trimmer mower). I mulch with the standard blade, which works fine if you don't let the grass get too long. Tip: remove the air filter and plug wire before cleaning the underside -- the air filter can flood with oil depending on which way you tip it, and the Honda engine starts so easily I can imagine it coming to life just by moving the blade while cleaning. I spend an hour every fall, draining gas, replace oil and thoroughly cleaning and oiling the underside of the deck, plus I store it in a heated space, so I think this mower may last a lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Mower. I cant say enough good things about this mower.I love the feeling of quality it gives me when Im mowing with it.Starts with one pull every time.Would buy it again tomorrow if I needed to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you go slow... Starts on first pull. Cuts well, but must go slow over moderately thick grass to achieve satisfactory cut. Appreciate it's simplicity; anticipate fewer problems over time. As reported by numerous reviewers, handle arrived slightly bent so that could not be screwed down on to mower without slight wobble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought one years ago! Love this mower. When delivered, I put the oil that came with it in (didn't take the whole bottle so don't overfill!), put gas in and it started first pull! No priming! No assembly required. I love that it has a throttle and choke on the handle. It mulches great even with the single blade but you can install a dual blade later if you want. The side discharge spreads the grass better then any mower I've had over 40 years, even in tall grass. The engine is the quietest I've ever heard. May not wear ear plugs anymore. Also the Honda engine has far less exhaust fumes then other commonly used motors probably due to a little pollution control on the engine. One complaint is the handle is lower then I like and is not adjustable. But at 6'6" I'm not average sized so it's hard to criticize. Another is the left front wheel assembly was bent in during shipping throwing the camber way off.The wheel hardly touched the ground. Home Depot promptly sent me a new assembly that I installed myself. As others here have mentioned, Honda needs to design better shipping boxes. Lastly, I wish they carried this model in the store even though I got free shipping. I don't like power drive....more chances of break downs and I like the extra exercise a push power provides...easier to maneuver also.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't last as long as my previous Toro mower The Honda lasted four years and then up and died during the first mowing of the season. Yes it was stored properly along with prescribed maintenance per the manual. The Toro lasted five, almost six years before the maintenance and repair costs got out of hand. That's why I bought the Honda, the expectation that it would last longer. When oil started coming out of the exhaust manifold I knew the honeymoon was over. Repair cost now equals a new lawnmower. I don't see paying premium for a Honda again.
