Customer Questions & Answers

Can it be stacked on each other, to create multiple shelves in a small 30" closet?

This was the only shelf I could find, in 30" W. I could also buy separate tall legs, and several of these for shelves, but then it'd become rather expensive. And wasteful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beats the competition I purchased a similar item for a few dollars less and had to return it because it was so flimsy. The wires were at best the thickness of coat hangers. I went to Home Depot and ordered this unit. I was amazed at the difference in quality. It was far sturdier than the first one and it's perfect for my intended use (supporting heavy paint cans.) I intend to order another since they're stackable, and I'm confident that I can safely double the overall weight. I only went to four stars because the unit is not comparable to the original commercial product after which it is designed, however the commercial version would cost three times as much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we needed We needed to create storage under a work table. These shelves were perfect. They are sturdy enough to hold hand tools and power tools. We purchased two to double the shelf space.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad Pay attention to the dimensions, because its really small. But if you're looking for a nice little table to put under a larger table, this will work for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to Assemble At times I’m annoyed with manufacturers and vendors who fail to provide important information about a product. This urban shelf experience is one of those instances. The instructions are lacking and are the reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Please read below so you won’t experience the same problem I had when I tried to put together this easy to assemble unit. In addition to the shelf, you’ll receive the legs and bags containing the parts you’ll need to build it. You’ll get four of each of those parts. Pay particular attention to the legs’ grooves and the bag that contains 4 pairs of interlocking rubber braces (totaling eight). Each of those eight rubber braces, which are called cups at one website, is about two inches high. Examine them carefully, for the inner side of each has a thin linear relief. The relief has to be aligned with the leg’s upper groove before you lock it around the leg with its partner. If you do that properly, the two parts will snap snuggly around the leg. Also, most of the legs’ grooves are evenly spaced, except one at the end that allows for a longer spacing at each leg’s bottom. Ergo, the longer space is at the bottom of the table’s leg and the shorter space is on the top, and it’s the area where you will snap the brace onto the leg. That brace and its leg will now slip into the table’s top with ease. If your hands are too weak to push the leg into the table shelf, you can pound it in gently with a rubber mallet. By the way, make sure the table’s top is facing in the right direction, with its skirt facing down, toward the legs. The assembled table is 16 ¼” high and the top is 13 3/4” square. To make it high enough for a regular table, you might want to purchase two units. One will easily piggyback onto the other with the included hardware. I bought two to use side by side in the tub for clothing that has to drip dry. The manufacturer does warn you not to use this shelf (or table) as a step ladder or permit children or animals on it. Also, distribute weight evenly. It’s safe and sturdy enough for inanimate objects, such as books, dry goods, or clothing. I live in a small apartment and I had bought the initial unit with the intention of resting the small Panda washing machine or a wash bucket in the bathroom where they could then easily drain into the tub. I haven’t used it for that purpose, however, since I’m now thinking of purchasing a larger portable washing machine. Besides, I don’t think it can withstand the vibrations of a washing machine unless the legs were properly secured to one another at the bottom with something as simple as a tightly wound rope or duct tape. That can be an eyesore. The table is still handy to receive a pizza delivery or to rest a grocery bag while I transfer items into the refrigerator.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightweight table This is not as sturdy as the heavier shelving units of the same design, but it seems to be fine for objects up to about 100 pounds. I bought it specifically for its size to fit into a space I wanted to use, and it does that just fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value This product is very good if you not planning to put anything very heavy on it. The legs are strong but the shelf is not as strong as one of the metal shelves you would put on a garage or shop to store things.
