Answer:
No, it isn't. I looked closely, and the iron rest is spot-welded to the chassis.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Features Though not of the quality of the American made ironing boards of the past, this board offers good value and clever features that make ironing easier. The greatest down-side is the height-adjustment rack (ratchet) which disengages when the board is folded and then (on my example anyway) has to be manually engaged to permit height adjustment. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mediocre construction It's an ironing board, how bad can it really be? My biggest complaint is that the mechanism for holding the legs up is pretty flaky. I have had to fuss around with it to make it work correctly again. Not a big deal, but usually you can just take your ironing board from the closet, open it up, use it, close it, and put it away. Not this one; you have to fiddle with the mechanism, then it will stay up. When you close it, the mechanism gets screwed up again, so you have to do it again next time. Other than that, it works fine. January 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High and Steady A good height and very steady for serious ironing. Large enough for large items December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good choice Easy to set up and stow away. Nicely made too. Good value for the price paid. September 22, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Narrow and unstable If you use to iron , it moves a lot. Not many people iron anymore, but for people like me who likes to be nice and fit , it has been not so useful. October 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything I expected from an ironing board. Works great. All one could hope for in an ironing board. March 13, 2013
