If the top ironing board part/lid is raised up, can it support it self upright leaning against vertical wall, or would the lid fall back down to it's normal, horizontal/closed position?

Answer:
You can keep the lid raised, however, if not against a wall and the bags are empty, the unit can be unstable and tip over.

Answer:
The top ironing board is on a door hinge, so it extends further than 90 degrees if you let it.

Answer:
Yes. It stays up even without a wall for support. But I keep it down as it makes the bathroom look more tidy.

Answer:
Board stays against wall---but when in that position there are metal tabs that will hit wall. So I keep mine in lowered position unless I need to remove a bag.

Answer:
Lid stays up by itself, if you want. Haven't used to iron yet, but seems of good quality to iron, except there is no point to do shirts.

How sturdy or flimsey is the ironing platform, when putting pressure on it while ironing? Does the frames of the laundry sorter provide good support when you're trying to use the ironing platform? Or if do you suggest I purchase a separate ironing board?

With the locking wheels, it is very adequate for use. No narrowed end for sleeves and necklines, so I wouldn't use it for all my ironing, but great for touch-ups.

I think as a quick ironing job (1-2 items) it would be fine--but for full laundry day ironing, I think a regular ironing board would be better.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 47 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase It was very easy to put together and I'm a woman saying that. I love that my laundry is already separated when it's time to do the wash! Thank you to the young lady at the York, PA Home Depot for ordering it for me. When I was searching for one they came up on the screen where you could purchase them but I never clicked on the picture to see if I had to go to the store or purchase online. It was an online only item. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Laundry Sorter I'm amazed at the sturdiness and quality of this sorter! The metal frame is super easy to put together, and the casters make it easily movable. I use the hinged top to fold things out of the dryer. Very practical, many great features, including the bags easily lifting out on their individual rod handles. Best purchase I've made in a long time! July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Saves Time I bought this for my wife and she loves it. It saves time when it's time to do laundry. She now has a lot less sorting to do. She enjoys the fact that the bags come right off the rack and she can dump them straight into the washing machine. Be careful when assembling this. The metal is not as thick and sturdy as we'd like. The first screw I put in went right through the whole and bent the metal. I made sure to be careful the rest of the way. The ironing board shelf on top is nice, but we use a real ironing board instead. Also, this item smelled extremely bad when we removed it from the packaging and assembled it. We left it in the garage for three days to help alleviate some of the smell before finally bringing it back into the house and using it. May 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Flimsy, horrible smell, hard wheels-returned it The other reviewers are correct about the smell-very strong and noxious. I put it together though, hoping the smell would dissipate. The directions are out of order-it has you put both sides together before you put the top bar for the lid on and that causes you to have to loosen all your work. It was fine until I loaded it up with laundry in all 3 bags-the entire thing shifted to the right and no amount of tightening would stop it. The lid is very heavy-small fingers could get smashed. The wheels are hard plastic also and they don't roll well, so if you have hardwood floors, beware. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product Excellent laundry sorter! Very easy installation, less than 10 minutes. The wheels make it convenient to move around wherever you need it. The laundry board is also very convenient to fold laundry directly out of the dryer. November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Laundry center We really liked it!! Saves so much room!!! The ironing table is great too May 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product We have a small laundry closet, having to stack the washer and dryer; this product was a great purchase as it meets the needs of a three person family's dirty clothes, while erasing the need for a separate ironing board; because this product is on wheels it is easy to move from the closet area into an open space to process clean clothes; great purchase, though the packaging smell of the bags was initially off-putting - like others, febreeze worked the problem out April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Laundry Halper Was pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness and quality of this product considering the price. If I had needed two I would have run out and get another one! May 10, 2016
