The air conditioner was extremely easy to install. I had it working within minutes from taking it out of the packaging. The only issue I have is that I have it in my home office and it is a 10x10 bedroom with a vaulted ceiling. When the temps got above 100 degrees outside, this little guy could not cool the room down below 78 degrees. While that was enough when I had the fan blowing directly at me, I don't know if it will be enough to keep my computers cool if I get more servers. Thankfully, it does not get that hot in my area that often.

I've used a window cooler in the past but didn't like the looks of it hanging out the window so decided to try this portable cooler. I am using this cooler in my home office that is just 100 square feet. It is overpowered for that small space but is the least power I could find for a portable cooler. It is noisy when the compressor is on but is not on much to keep my little office cool. It certainly takes up a lot of space in my small office but that, and the noise, is the sacrifice I make for appearances. I'm even going to vent it through the wall on the non-street side of the room (corner of house) so that even the vent isn't visible in the window from the street. The cooler blows so much air out the vent that it really creates a strong negative pressure in the room. So much so that, if I shut the door tight, it can't get enough air and shuts the compressor and exterior venting off. I have to leave the door loose so that it can suck open to allow the amount of air the cooling function needs. Bottom line: If my window wasn't on the street side of the house I would definitely stay with a window unit. Ah, the sacrifices we make for vain appearances!

We had to buy this AC unit because we could not have a window unit. The worst part of the unit is the hose and connection to the window for ventilation. Since how well the exhaust hose functions affects the efficiency of this unit, and its ability to cool, one would think it would be carefully designed with rubber seals and an easily adjustable window mount. Instead, you have a cheap plastic hose that has no seal at the connection to the unit or at the window. The mount at the window is cheap and requires much manipulation and towels to make sure the unit is exhausting properly. When I bought this it was over $500. For that price I expect much more.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fairfielder001 Successful installation, Honeywell MN10CESWW a/c
This unit was easy to unpack (though somewhat hefty) and to connect to the window space. The remote control is straightforward as long as you realize that when you push a button and the temperature starts blinking, it indicates the temperature you're setting. You can then change it by pressing the arrow up or down buttons. Then it stops flashing and displays in solid numbers the actual temperature. This a/c is cooling a room about 13 x 15' with a high ceiling, with warm air exiting a skylight with a ceiling fan. Some cool air "sinks" out of the room, down a short corridor into other rooms, and a small oscillating fan does a good job helping cool one secondary room using some of the cooled air. Given what we've read, it's a good idea to turn off this unit after a number of hours so that it doesn't become overtaxed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BUNNY LOVE this air conditioner!
This air conditioner performs as stated. Packaging was amazing. It WAS quick to un-box and install. It has a much shorter "standing" period required prior to turning the unit on - 20 min. It is truly portable since it does not screw into the window & casing. The casters are perfect to move this unit easily across carpeting. The unit is lightweight for it's size. Cools well enough for a small bedroom which is what I intended it to be used for. Although the EER was quite high - which should be good - I gasped when my electric bill came in for a month of heavy use. This is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. I still love this unit, the way it operates and do not regret it's purchase - even with the electric bill. VERY important - it does not drip any water and I still have not had to empty it once.

I am very satisfied with this AC unit. I own another honeywell 14K BTUs AC, but this one even though is only 10k BTU cools down a lot better. Great investment and the free shipping charges / store pick up option is unbeatable.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Klaus Doesn't Cool The Room
Yes, it's easy to set up and it isn't very loud but it doesn't do the job of cooling the room.
I bought this portable to replace a 6,000 BTU window unit that requires removal from the window, disassembly and cleaning every 3 months to keep mold from forming inside the unit. This 10,000 BTU portable doesn't come close to the cooling power of the 6,000 BTU window unit.
I noticed that the air exhaust hose is rather warm to the touch from carrying the hot air to the window bracket. Some of that heat is getting back into the room, but can't by itself explain the poor performance of this Honeywell unit.
I will never buy another house without central air, and this Honeywell is going to back to Home Depot.
