Product Overview

The Honeywell ALLERGEN PLUS 2-PK is made of a self-supported pleated media offered at a value. The unique filter construction of Honeywell ALLERGEN PLUS requires less energy for lower energy cost. Its electrostatic charge and larger surface area of pleated material improves the efficiency of its dust-holding capacity. Housed in a recyclable clay-coated moisture resistant frame, this filter captures particles as small as 1 micron. In comparison, a human hair is approximately 150 microns in size. The Honeywell is effective against the following contaminants: microscopic allergens, bacteria, disintegrated feces, tobacco smoke, insecticide dust, lead dust, mold spores, pollen, pet dander, nuisance dust, and dust mite debris. The leader in the air filtration, Flanders provides air filtration products for pharmaceutical laboratories, the space programs, nuclear containment, and commercial industries.

Answer:
A filter is approximately 1" thick. There at some larger, but you want the measurement of the opening that the filter slides into on the furnace. Measure that opening, then purchase your filters.

Answer:
If there are no arrows, run your blower to see which way the air is flowing. The arrows point toward the outlet of the furnace.

Answer:
Look for the small "black" arrow on the edge of the filter. It tells you which side to insert in the furnace opening. The arrow should point towards the motor part of the furnace. The other side faces the duct work that is attached to the furnace.

Hi Greg,
All of the air filters have an air flow indicator to assure proper installation.
Just make sure the arrow is pointing toward the blower.
Mike,

14 in. x 20 in. HW Allergen Plus Pleated FPR 7 Air Filter (2-Pack) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Furnace filter pack I recently has a new gas hot air furnace (Lenox) installed, we also have a large GSD who is constantly shedding, so I change the filters on a monthly basis. They do collect hair and I was told by our service contract individual never to go higher than a 8 rating with the dog, it could cause the furnace to starve for air and cause a 'flame out' as a safety precaution. So far, these work great, much cheaper in a 2 pack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from air filter My furnace won't fit the four inch filter I bought so I have to go with tne inch. It doesn't help that I have to go into the crawl space to change it. The workers at the north store are wonderful, but the south fort collins store employees and management are terrible. It doesn't help that the manager encourages behavior that makes me feel put off on a continual basis. But, the the other HD and Lowes love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good buy I use to use only the 4 rated filters for my furnace but the last few times I used them they just didn't last as long as before. So I bought the rated 7 filter and they are working great.Don't know if the rated 4 filters are getting made more poorly then before so they are making people buy the higher priced ones but I will be buying this kind from now on!!!!!!!

I did some research and found that 7 is the best FPR to filter air but not wear out your fan. I replace these at least every three months or if the heat/AC has been running a lot within a month... or if there is a dust in the house from a project.

I do feel it is a bit over priced for such a short life span of the product as I do purchase and change my filters once a month .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FPR 7 Honey well 16x25 furnace filter The FPR 7 rated filter provides optimal benefits for my needs. The density rating does capture minute particles (like dust, pollutants from smoking, and pollens, but the density of the fibers does not "bog down" fan performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality product This is the third time I have used this FPR 7 filter. There is a noticeable reduction in dust around the house using this filter versus the cheap filters, and when you replace the filter you can see the results in the used one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean air Great price for a 2 pack of filters, not the best filter Home Depot has, but they are quality filters for the price. I don't buy the most expensive filters, because I change them more often than the manufacture says.
