Product Overview

The Honeywell Elite Allergen is made of a reinforced pleated media designed to capture particles down to the micro particle level. The large surface area improves the efficiency of its dust-holding capacity. The unique construction of Honeywell Elite Allergen filters requires less energy for lower energy cost. Its electrostatic charge helps attract particles “magnetically” that otherwise would pass through. Housed in a recyclable clay-coated moisture resistant frame, this filter captures particles as small as 0.3 microns. In comparison, a human hair is approximately 100 microns in size. The Honeywell Elite Allergen is effective against the following contaminants: dust/lint, airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, bacteria, microscopic allergens, virus carriers, and most smoke and smog particles.

  • Filter performance rating (FPR): 10
  • Filters down to the micro particle level
  • Electro-statically charged
  • Heavy-duty moisture resistant frame
  • Lasts up to 90 days

There was the suggestion that the filter is good for approximately 3 months, which would suggest a seasonal change. In my case the accessibility to change the filter is quite convenient and the ability to check for contaminants, dirt and dust, is also easily available as I can lift the retaining wire and check the condition. There were grades of filters reflected also by price and I chose a higher grade. Read Less

16 in. x 19 in. x 1 in. Elite Allergen Pleated FPR 10 Air Filter is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 286.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Honeywell Elite FRP 10 Filter 14x30x1 THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT MATCH THE SIZE SPECIFICATION ON THE PACKAGE LABEL !! I bought an Elite Honeywell 14x30x1 with an FRP 10 from Home Depot. The dimensions of my return is precisely 14x30x1 and I expected my new filter to be exactly that but NOT WITH THIS BRAND. It measures 13.25 x 29.5 x 1 !!!!! So when the air is turned on and off, since it is not tight snug in the return frame, it makes a FOOMP sound every time and this is annoying! More like a loud THUMP because the filter's card board frame is too small for the precise return dimensions and again, DOES NOT MATCH THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION. I am returning this to get my money back---$20--- and getting another brand. I'm also bringing my tape measure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weak frame makes a top filter a horrible product I bought this top of the line, level 10 air filter and was very impresses on how weak the frame is. My A/C is far from being a powerful turbine, yet you can see by the picture that the frame bends because of the suction. And not over time, but 1 week on. If the filter is projected to protect A/C from dust and dirty, this filter IS NOT doing that because of those gaps on the sides

Rated 4 out of 5 by from filter for a forced air furnace The packaging of this product and the way it was stored on the shelf prior to purchase lent itself to premature damage, however slight, and may not have interfered with the functionality, but the strands of card board that held the filter, along with the cardboard that bordered the exterior of the filter paper had been prone to slight bending which may allow air to bypass the filter. I went through the stack, trying to find a filter that had not been compromised and found one that was more acceptable out of a stack of about 9. The price was high enough to suggest that more care should be taken into consideration with handling and storage by the retail outlet or the supplier. Of course, once it is secured in the metal frame of the duct, it's durability is of less of an issue since it primarily remains inert, allowing air to be filtered by passing through it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flimsy frame The cardboard frame of the filter is extremely thin and light, to the point where I have to tape it to the outside of the ducting to prevent it from collapsing and getting sucked in. When it's properly positioned, it does its job well, but without extra support, it'll bend until it's out of position. Note that I'm using the 25" version just so I have an extra inch sticking out to attach the tape to try to hold it in place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Honeywell filter Very cheap and flimsy. Frame bends very easy. Not getting my money's worth at $20 each. Will buy an alternative.

After my allergies were no better using FFR 7 filters, I spent the extra bucks on FFR10 filters. What a difference! Nasal congestion and runny nose much better. By the way, I use blue painters tape, sealing the filter's cardboard edges to the furnace, so that the air must pass through the filter, and not go around the sides of the filter at the point of least resistance for the airflow. I was concerned about FFR 10 filters impeding airflow too much, but that seems not to be the case. I probably won't spend extra money on a stand alone air purifier, just run the fan on my furnace/ac.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Replacement Filters Great replacement filters. 30 x 30 filters are hard to find in my town, so I was excited to find them online at Home Depot have them shipped. Filters arrived in good condition - one filter was bent slightly at one of the corners, but still functional. The filters are two (2) 15 x 30 filters manufactured by Flanders, taped together, which was how my previous filters were. They were Flanders filters also. I think Honeywell just re-packages them for Home Depot. Overall, good product and would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Allergies...UGH! This is our first time trying this brand of filter. We just purchased this filter less than a month ago due to our love of pets and dislike of pet dander, allergens, pollen and dust mites! We will wait awhile and keep you updated on our likes and dislikes concerning this product. So far I have noticed less dust particles floating through the room when the sun shines through the windows. So far so good!
