The Honeywell Elite Allergen is made of a reinforced pleated media designed to capture particles down to the micro particle level. The large surface area improves the efficiency of its dust-holding capacity. The unique construction of Honeywell Elite Allergen filters requires less energy for lower energy cost. Its electrostatic charge helps attract particles “magnetically” that otherwise would pass through. Housed in a recyclable clay-coated moisture resistant frame, this filter captures particles as small as 0.3 micron. In comparison, a human hair is approximately 100 microns in size. The Honeywell Elite Allergen is effective against the following contaminants: dust/lint, airborne dust mite debris, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, bacteria, microscopic allergens, virus carriers and odor, most smoke and smog particles.

  • Filters down to the micro particle level
  • Lasts up to 90 days

Answer:
The FPR10 does well against minor orders and smoke. However, if smoke /odors is the primary concern a carbon activated filter may be the better choice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Filter is stepping up! The filter was easy to place into the filter slot. It was lightweight and sturdy. I am pleased with the amount of waste it removed. I hope they continue to develop innovative filters years to come! March 5, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by End user Easy to use, stand is great. My first table saw!!! March 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the money We get the best furnace filter because we have a mold problem in our basement, and we do not want spores being spread through out the house. It says change every three months, and we need to change ours probably more often than that in the winter! The filter get covered with dust and dirt from the basement, and I am glad it clears out any smells from down there. Will be getting again. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Honeywell Elite Allergen Air Filter The filter works well. I replace them about three times a year and they appear to remove more particles than any previous filters that I've used in the past. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Filters These are great filters although not the best, its a great value for the money. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Furnace filter Dust seems to be less than it has been and les colds and flu in the house this year January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does excellent job and well worth the higher price for 3 month filter! We were getting down to our last 30 day furnace filter and in my research of currently available filters, I came across these Honeywell premium furnace filters. After performing my own research on them, I discussed the product with my wife who initially had major sticker shock when I told her how much these cost. However, when I explained that when you figure in the per month cost, these filters are only about $2 more per month compared to our economy grade filters we had been using. One of the factors involving this filter purchase is that we had both our dogs get sprayed by a skunk about a month before and every time they are in the basement, they end up releasing more of the skunk smell. This is normal as it can take months for the smell to get completely out of their skin and fur. With these filters being designed to filter out odor particles, bacteria and viruses, I figured it was worth a shot. As of this review being written a month after I put this filter in, I can tell you that there is definitely a noticeable difference in the basement as no one can tell that there was a skunk smell down there! These filters did what skunk shampoo, vinegar, febreeze, Lysol and every product we had in the house for making a room smell better couldn't. So would I buy another filter like this again? You bet I would! However, I would recommend getting the 12 pack of these, which while it has a high monetary price, carries a more reasonable per month price. November 22, 2015
