Product Overview

The Honeywell SUPERIOR ALLERGEN is made of a self-supported pleated media offered at a value. The unique filter construction of Honeywell SUPERIOR ALLERGEN requires less energy for lower energy cost. Its electrostatic charge and larger surface area of pleated material improves the efficiency of its dust-holding capacity. Housed in a recyclable clay-coated moisture resistant frame, this filter captures particles as small as 1 micron. In comparison, a human hair is approximately 150 microns in size. The Honeywell is effective against the following contaminants: microscopic allergens, bacteria, disintegrated feces, tobacco smoke, insecticide dust, lead dust, mold spores, pollen, pet dander, nuisance dust, and dust mite debris. The leader in the air filtration, Flanders provides air filtration products for pharmaceutical laboratories, the space programs, nuclear containment, and commercial industries.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do NOT buy Honeywell 91001 filters! My regular filter manufacturer was not on my local HD shelf so I bought this Honeywell model 91001 FPR10 filter. (I usually purchase Filtrete filters, and have been using them in my furnace for 16 years w/o problems.) While unwrapping the Honeywell I noticed that the ''heavy-duty frame'' was only light cardboard, with absolutely no metal reinforcement within it. I installed it with the thought of inspecting it after a short period of use. Glad I did. One week later I inspected the furnace and saw that the Honeywell cardboard frame had completely let go and the filter had just about been sucked into the blower motor! I have never seen such a flimsy made furnace filter. If I had not inspected the furnace so soon after, it eventually would have totally been sucked into the blower motor assembly and could have caused severe damage to the equipment. HD, his may be a big liability issue for you and you should definitely look into this product. August 17, 2013
