The packaging of this product and the way it was stored on the shelf prior to purchase lent itself to premature damage, however slight, and may not have interfered with the functionality, but the strands of card board that held the filter, along with the cardboard that bordered the exterior of the filter paper had been prone to slight bending which may allow air to bypass the filter. I went through the stack, trying to find a filter that had not been compromised and found one that was more acceptable out of a stack of about 9. The price was high enough to suggest that more care should be taken into consideration with handling and storage by the retail outlet or the supplier. Of course, once it is secured in the metal frame of the duct, it's durability is of less of an issue since it primarily remains inert, allowing air to be filtered by passing through it.

I choose the top level filter as I care about the air quality in my home with new born and young children.. I could tel the 10 Black Elite model of the Filter was superior to the other models and generics.. The correct Size and I could very much tell which direction to install it.

It seems pricey to me. Especially since the side of most of them are squashed on the shelf. $20 bucks is a lot of money in the first place, and it to be deformed makes it less valuable. I'm switching to 3M, they are sturdier.
