Product Overview

The Honeywell CO25AE 6.6-Gal. Indoor/Outdoor Evaporative Air Cooler offers an energy efficient option for cooling your home, workplace or outdoor living space in the most natural way. Honeywell evaporative air coolers do not require power hungry components like compressors. The low power consumption translates into significant savings on energy bills compared to using air conditioners. Just unpack, add water/ice, place near open door or window, plug it in, and use. This unit is ideal for cooling medium to large rooms in any home or office. Four fan speeds and oscillating louvers evenly distribute cool air through the honeycomb cooling media, while the carbon dust filter cleanses the air. The unit consumes 230-Watt of power and includes an automatic shutoff timer. The electronic control panel is easy to use and the remote control lets you operate your cooler from across. It has four durable caster wheels which allow you to easily roll the unit from room to room.

Only One Open Window Required in a Room?

This question is from 470 CFM 4-Speed Portable Evaporative Cooler for 250 sq. ft.
Asked by

The video shows the airflow path inside a room and circling the room and going back out the same window the air is coming in at. Thus, it looks like only one window is needed.
I have heard there needs to be two open windows, one where the unit sits, and another somewhere else where air can leave the room.
I have a unit going into a room where there will be only 1 window and no open door, so I was wondering if the video is accurate in that only one open window is needed.
I will be using this in an extremely dry climate, so some humidity would actually be a good thing for us.

I am thinking of using this in a loft area in my home. Space is open to the rest of the (air conditioned) house so there are no direct windows for cross circulation. Would this still work?

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Texas Heat The unit puts out a good volume of air, better than I expected and there is a few degrees of cooling effect within that breeze. I also have a portable a/c that puts out a colder, but much less volume of air and by using the two in conjunction under a covered patio, you can survive those 100 degree days in comfort. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job! This air cooler does just what I was told that it would: it cools a rather large area without having to pipe anything out the window. I haven't even needed to use the cool feature very much… the fan alone does a good job. October 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product - It does what it says The modern day version of a "swamp cooler". The item performs exactly as it says, it cools the air. It uses plenty of water (and ice for extra cooling) but it has cooled down our house during these periods of extreme heat that we are now getting. It is portable, the power cord could be a little longer but other than that we have had no problems with it. If you don't have A/C and want to stay reasonably cool this product is worth getting. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely worthless. The temperature in my 220 square foot room room was 83 degrees. Per directions, I sat the unit in front of an open door, and opened a window opposite the unit. I filled the unit with water, and put ice in the top. I set the unit the "cool" mode and turned it to "high". Over three hours later, my front room was still 83 degrees - and A LOT MORE humid. "WET" doesn't equal "COOL". If I wanted to live in a swamp, I would move to the Everglades. I will be returning the unit to Home Depot. July 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cooling room product Does an excellent job of cooling a small to medium size room in a short time. When it's 95 outside this unit make it comfortable inside without using an air conditioner - No FreeOn is used only water and ice. Quiet and easy to setup and use! I will be buying a second one for a bedroom soon. July 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cools side Patio Works great! When used with the ice, it cools shaded patio in FL summer June 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works very good! would recommend to anyone who needs an air cooler. Really helps cool the air in these 90 degree weather we've been having lately! July 23, 2013
