Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by good thermostat, programming a challenge The thermostat works just fine. We have a lot of Honeywells throughout our facilities. This particular one was purchased because of the auto heat/cool. Initially the auto feature was not appearing for heat/cool. You need to go into the advanced setup menu to access feature 12, then set it to auto switchover. The manual does explain this in the advanced setup section. It is very easy to do, but the thermostat did not come with this feature already enabled. That was probably a poor, but necessary choice on Honeywell's part. I would purchase this product again and recommend it to others. Just be prepared to do some more programming than you may have been used to. May 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by As Advertised: Easy Install Simple install with our furnace/air system. The install instructions were simple, concise, and yet detailed enough to make install a breeze. It powered right up and functioned perfectly. One piece of advice. For securing the thermostat wires to the terminals on the unit you need a very tiny flat head screwdriver. I happened to have a set of precision screw drivers, but if I hadn't it would have meant another trip to the store. It also does NOT come with the 2-AA batteries required for operation, so make sure you have those on hand. I thought the batteries were only for memory in case the power goes out, but the furnace cable does not power this unit. July 23, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good but has an installation issue Price was good. However after I installed it found the heat would not work. After removing the faceplate found one of the middle prongs in back was bent. Broke when I tried to carefully straighten it. Now I have to but a new one. Had installed for just two weeks. Why make something where this can happen? I was careful but could this could happen to anyone. Liked the performance of this thermostat but not so sure I will buy another because same thing can happen. Called Honeywell and told too bad. October 13, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Honeywell isn't what it used to be! I would warn MOST people about this thermostat. I haven't had it long enough to rate full function or reliability, but it appears that Honeywell isn't the same company as in years gone by. The package promises most installations in 90 minutes by most home owners. I'm a retired contractor and it took me 3 phone calls to Customer Service to finally get it hooked up and working. The extensive manual didn't adequately cover heat pumps with boosters. So, OK, I called and got the correct hook-up, or so they said. What they gave me didn't even get it working without the boost capability. So I called again. The second rep. had no answer and had to 'Go Check' and ended up hanging up on me. The third rep. after hearing me complain about calls 1 & 2, took the information in the Trane system I had and left me hang for 15 minutes or more. When she returned, she fortunately had the correct hook-up information and I had her wait while I got it wired and working. I seems to be OK now, but the jury is still out. Any further difficulties and I may just take the whole thing back to Home Depot and cut my losses. December 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Loud Thermostat The thermostat is easy to install but disappointing in that it makes loud audible clicks when it turns the system on and off. If the thermostat is in your bedroom it can be annoying when you are trying to sleep. October 8, 2014
