Rated 4 out of 5Â by city good thermostat, programming a challenge
The thermostat works just fine. We have a lot of Honeywells throughout our facilities. This particular one was purchased because of the auto heat/cool. Initially the auto feature was not appearing for heat/cool. You need to go into the advanced setup menu to access feature 12, then set it to auto switchover. The manual does explain this in the advanced setup section. It is very easy to do, but the thermostat did not come with this feature already enabled. That was probably a poor, but necessary choice on Honeywell's part. I would purchase this product again and recommend it to others. Just be prepared to do some more programming than you may have been used to.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Daniel As Advertised: Easy Install
Simple install with our furnace/air system. The install instructions were simple, concise, and yet detailed enough to make install a breeze. It powered right up and functioned perfectly.
One piece of advice. For securing the thermostat wires to the terminals on the unit you need a very tiny flat head screwdriver. I happened to have a set of precision screw drivers, but if I hadn't it would have meant another trip to the store. It also does NOT come with the 2-AA batteries required for operation, so make sure you have those on hand. I thought the batteries were only for memory in case the power goes out, but the furnace cable does not power this unit.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by ld4004 1-degree swing!
This was a replacement for a 20+ year-old programmable thermostat. The Honeywell thermostat was easy to install and easy to program. It seems like a quality product that works exactly as described -- I just wish I had read the description more carefully. This thermostat has a 1-degree swing; that means if the cooling is set for 78-degrees, it turns on the a/c when the room temp is 79-degrees and turns it off at 78-degrees.
Consequently, my a/c is constantly cycling. It turns on and runs for a few minutes, then it turns off. My concern is that -- since the power surge at startup is between 200% and 300% of running power needs -- the thermostat makes the a/c use more energy due to more frequent starting.
I'd replace it and return it if I could, but I already threw away the old thermostat and all the Honeywell thermostats at Hone Depot all have the same 1-degree swing. I'm going to look at other programmable thermostats for one that has a larger swing so my a/c doesn't cycle as often.

I found this thermostat very easy to set up and program. Nothing confusing about it at all, and I can switch from program mode to manual with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dermott Nice unit, nothing flashy, make sure to price match!
I had the old unit off and the new unit on with in 15 minutes. I selected this unit because it says it will switch between hot and cool automagically. Haven't had a chance to test that yet, but everything else is working as planned.
Programming was consistent with every other thermostat I've had.
LED backlight is enough time, I didn't program it in the dark though.
As for Home Depot, great help there, I scanned the unit with my price match app and found it online for 43 bucks, they matched the price no questions asked, after tax I pax about 45 dollars.
