Customer Reviews

5-1/8 in. x 6-1/8 in. Clear Universal Thermostat Guard is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty simple product that works as intended Pretty simple product that works as intended. I have two small thermostats in my companies office that were constantly being adjusted to extremes by the warring "Climate Tribes" in the main cubicle areas. After a long Holiday weekend, I entered my office to find one portion blowing frigid air and another zone blowing heat. I found one thermostat on 78 and "Heat" and the other on 70 and "Cool". When I entered my 80+ degree office I decided to buy the Thermostat guards. Really glad I did. These work great and do not look too huge over the 3"X5" thermostats on the wall. Installation is very simple and took about 5 minutes for me to put both up on the wall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thermosta Guard Almost Good Enough!!!! This guard is adaquate, sturdy and easy to install. But, If Tenants want to break into the thermostat guard they all they have to do is use a thin piece of wire or a coathanger...I was shown this procedure & tried it myself & found it easy to adjust the temp. with a little skill....So, I purchsed a very small amount of thin lexan (shatterproof plastic), measured the interior, cut, and glued the interior covering the holes. Now I do not think it can be adjusted unless the tenant rips it off the wall doing further damage. Also, I do think the price iv very high (thought it would be under $10.00) but with oil prices as high as they are this should deter heat abusing tenants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Idea solution to the problem I had to find a way to protect my thermostat from my African Grey Parrot's beak; he had already destroyed one thermostat: he just loves taking things apart! This clear box which protects the thermostat doesn't give him anything to get his beak in or under to pry it off the wall, and the rounded corners doesn't allow him anything to chew on. A perfect solution to my problem

Rated 5 out of 5 by from outstanding product This guard is very sturdy and easy to install. If tenants want to break into the thermostat guard they will find a way. With this guard they will have no choice but to damage the wall to gain entry. I have been looking for awhile for a product that a tenant can't easily defeat-This is it. Great price too!! With oil prices as high as they are this should minimize profit loss due to heat abusing tenants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps others from reprogramming :) We would have people reprogram our thermostats when they only wanted to temporary increase or decrease the settings. So I was able to put the covers on and drill a 1 inch hole so they could get there finger in and set a temp that wouldn't change the program. Now the heat dosn't run all week:)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plastic Guard OK but a little pricy for such an easy to make item. I think it has enough vents for the T-stat to show correct room temperature. Easy to install. Has several punch outs for wires on back plate, I had to drill/add an extra punch out because the wires on my T-stat did not line up with the existing punch outs. (Easy Fix) The metal clip that holds the lock in place breaks easy. 1 out of 2 broke when I was testing the key in the lock.
