Answer:
In zoning systems you typically need one thermostat for each zone. Depending on your system, the existing thermostats and how they are wired and whether or not your system includes or uses a zone control panel, it may be possible for the Honeywell RTH7500 to be used as a replacement thermostat.

Answer:
The Honeywell RTH7500 is a dual powered thermostat. It can be powered by just batteries, directly from your heating and cooling system or from the system with batteries as a backup.
If you have more specific questions, please contact the Honeywell Consumer Technical Support Line at 1-800-468-1502.

We had this unit installed and obviously the guys knew less that we did about it!! All we want is for it to stay at 75 days, 68 nights!! Every day -- how do we do that? Specifically, what should each of the three buttons say on the bottom when itis set correctly. Also, lighting issue as stated above.

Answer:
The Honeywell RTH7500 does have a backlight display that will light up when any of the buttons are pressed. However, it does not have the option of keeping the backlight on all the time. Doing so would cause the batteries to be very quickly discharged.

When programming the RTH7500, for Monday through Friday you would need to enter a time and temperature setting for all four program periods. On Saturday and Sunday, you do have the option of deleting the Leave and Return programs.
For assistance in programming your RTH7500, we would recommend calling the Honeywell Consumer Technical Support Line at 1-800-468-1502 while at the thermostat. One of the technical representatives would be able to walk you through setting up the programs so they meet your needs. Read Less

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 36 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just as expected... I read the reviews before purchasing this thermostat. It was just as easy to install as they said it would be. SO COOL!!! I have a couple of small things to add..... 1) You should be prepared to paint the wall behind the thermostat. The old one was bigger... and now there's old wallpaper peaking through. I was in such a hurry to install it and get the heat going in the house that I didn't want to paint. Now I either have to take it down or paint around it.... big decision... big :) Lastly: The top is not a straight line, it's decorative, so what's the point of the level? I tried to level it... but really? September 24, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Okay for the most except The thermostat is pretty decent, works well so far, only there is one thing I would change about it. Anytime you want to set multiple schedules for select days, you have to push "Save" after each set schedule, and then start over again to set the next schedule. Thus, what I would change is, after saving a schedule, the unit should remain in Edit mode, so you can select other days for the next schedule. And then once you are completely finished setting and saving all your schedules, there should be a "Done" or "Finished" button that will take you out of "Edit/Schedule" mode. December 13, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by installed 8 of these over the last 3 or 4 years I have purchased and installed 8 of these thermostats at church and at home. Honeywell's on line assistance made installation easier- all are working properly and we have saved a lot of money at church with the 24 hour/ 7 day programming for the different usage in various areas of the church building. There are also Honeywell thermostats with more features- but this model has all the functions we wanted and using it is intuitive. August 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy install This model was installed in 15 minutes, as advertised. Need to go thru the user's manual carefully as there are many programming functions. Need to know the type of heating/cooling system first, as there are many functions with programming features that depend on the type of heating/cooling system. I have a heatpump and the programming was a easy as soon as I understood which functions to program or avoid. Unit works well. Love the resolution of the daily heat/cool functions, with warning for filter change. August 23, 2009
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by If it would work, I'd be happy Bought two of these thermostats at the same time. Opened one package and it was obviously a used thermostat. It had been used long enough for the battery contacts to corrode. This one will be returned to the store. Still haven't got the second one to actually turn my furnace on, but have played with it long enough to like its features. Easy to program and very visible. If Honeywell can't tell me what's wrong, then this one will go back to the store as well. November 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy installation, tips The directions were easy to follow and the unit easy to install. Three tips: 1 the directions don’t explain how to separate the thermostat from the wall plate. It pulls apart, just grab each and pull. 2 The screws that hold the wires down are very small. Before you start be sure you have a screw driver that will fit. 3 It uses two AA batteries as backup power but they are not included. I would recommend and buy this thermostat again. September 18, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good But Not Great I purchased this to replace the non-programmable thermostat that came with our new condo. The installation instructions are clear and fairly easy to follow and I really appreciated the little tabs to designate the original wire locations. The programming instructions were not quite as clear, or it might be the very small print in the booklet that was the problem, either way the programming took longer than it should have. May 8, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well with a heat pump This T-stat is compatible with a variety of Heat/AC systems. Installation is not too difficult. It's important to pay attention to the instructions. Be sure to tag your wires before disconnecting your old t-stat. We took a photo of ours before disconnecting which helped. It functions well. The interface is a little quirky but its easy to figure out and become familiar with it. The programming feature will be nice to use, but not sure if I will have use for the auto change feature in our climate. The display is somewhat cheap looking but it is easy to read which was one reason why we upgraded to this product. When we opened the package we discovered that Honeywell covers the display with a sticker that leaves a heavy residue. It took 15 or 20 minutes of light, careful scrubbing with WD-40 and soft cloth to remove it. Very satisfied with this Home Depot purchase. December 24, 2011
