Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by happyinsnowyohio great value... no brainer
For $20 this is a no-brainer if you simply are upgrading from your old-school thermostat.
Installation - easy
Programming - easy
Batteries - swap like every six months
Savings - we have a small house and have noticed a noteworthy savings in less than a year.
Con - My friends and I have all noticed that at 4AM, the furnace cooks us - if you look at the thermostat it says 74! We turn it down to 68 at 11PM and up to 72 at 4:30AM. It might be that the bedroom doors are closed??? Somehow it over heats the house during that time period.
We are upgrading to the 7 day programmable - we want to be spoiled!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Agent505 Quick Fix for Old Mercury Thermostat
Installation - 4/5 - Incredibly easy. The wiring bracket is a really thin plastic that could break easy if too much pressure were to be applied. The directions were very clear and easy to follow. The wall mount is great; the thermostat sits off the wall only about an inch.
Programming - 4/5 - Incredibly easy. Basically there are four time slots during the day that can be programmed. The time slots are predefined by default, but you have complete control over the time slots and the running temperature during said time slot. This model does not show the programmed temperature on the main display, only the current ambient temperature which may cause some unnecessary adjustments.
Overall - 4/5 - This is a great upgrade from an old mercury based or broken thermostat. The programming options are sure to improve your electric bill from the moment installation is complete.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by klwend seemed nice... no for me
I was really excited when these arrived. They appeared simple and easy to install. Unfortunately, when I took my old themostat off I had a W, R, and B wire. The directions told me to tape off the B wire since this model does not use a B wire. Unfortunately my furnace doesn't turn on without the B wire hoked up. I returned the thermostat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gene Well satisfied
Thermostat installed easily. I wasn't sure about the wiring configuration so I placed a call to Honeywell customer service. Was well satisfied with the response. Wired it up as directed, installed 3 AAA batteries and it worked the first time. The factory default settings were about right so didn't even need to reprogram.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by FloridaGator Get the newer model if you need to.
Since this product was replaced with a newer model, for practically the same price, I don't see how you could possibly go wrong. If the new model is anything like this one, you're good to go. This one has been very reliable.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by afigueroa16 Simple and effective
Extremely good price for this product although not as detailed as the 5-2, 5-1-1 thermostats; it is a quick fix and easy to mount to the controls. LED display is efficient and controls are easy to use. Temperatures are always +/- 1degree farenheit of what you program it before the central air activates to adjust the temperature.

We have used this thermostat for about a year now and we love it! It is very accurate with the temperature settings, easy to program and a wonderful value. Also, there is no long heater-element delay in getting it to work--it starts up very quickly--a real blessing if you have to change the battery at 3:00 a.m.!!! I highly recommend this thermostat!
