Hi,
I have installed several. Like most digital thermostats, the light only stays on while you are using it. otherwise the batteries would not last very long. Hope this helps

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 64 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent and Simple Old programmable thermostat was failing and also too complicated. We simply did not need a programmable one. This was perfect, and simple, for our needs. I had previously purchased the Honeywell cheaper LED (model RTH111B) readout one but couldn't read it in the dark hallway where our thermostat is located so returned it and bought this one. It lights up well when you push any of the buttons. Very happy. Also, regardless of what the wiring instructions say, I would still call Honeywell tech support and confirm the wiring and settings just to be sure. They seemed to be very competent. August 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simple to install and easy to use We keep our thermostat set on the same temperature most all the time and don't need a fancy programmable model. The Honeywell is well-designed, easy to read and simple to operate. We would recommend this model for anyone who doesn't want or need to be fiddling with the temperature setting constantly. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly as advertised Very easy to install and understand. Has the better style screw connections instead of the push-style. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HoneywellDigital Non-Programmable Thermostat for Heat Pumps It works great but had to make a few phones calls to verify the wiring from an different product that was installed prior. The people I spoke with was out of the United States and the English was a little hard to understand. But got through it. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by T Stst Chang out We got tired of our programable T stat. Went to THD and Ed showed us the same modle Honneywelbl we had but non-progrmmadel. We purchased followed the easy installation directions and now we have a do it yourself t stat. Very happy with new unit. July 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Digital thermostat Directions and diagrams were incomplete and difficult to understand. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and use. The non-programmable thermostat was easy to install. It's simplicity makes it very easy to use. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Potentially complicated repair made easy Product was clearly labeled for specific circumstances and conditions of use. Instructions were clear, straight-forward and covered the full range of contingencies. They include a description of everything needed to complete installation. Installation itself was quick and easy. This was probably the most efficient do-it-yourself project I've ever undertaken because of the seller's comprehensive awareness of the consumer's needs.
