Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by String little thermostat but a little hard to adjust. The thermostat works and it is really solid, no cheap parts or flimsy pieces, but it is extremely hard to regulate temperature. Since it is so small just moving the temperature setting a millimeter can result in a 5-8 degree shift in the temperature. This is entirely due to the small size and not a flaw in the product. It was, however, the only analog thermostat they had. My reason for going with this one is that the batteries on my programmable digital thermostat died and my disabled mother had an almost impossible time changing them so I wanted one that does not use batteries and for that this works fine. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good for what it was designed for... I am the Maintenance Supervisor at a resort hotel. We needed to replace a few of our current thermostats until we got a test bed of electronic thermostats. I used this Honeywell thermostat as replacements for now and they have performed very well actually. For what they are I didn't think they were going to be around for much more than a few weeks. Surprise! Not only do they do a good job, if they are handled with care and installed correctly, they will be around for some time. I have around a half a dozen on the property at the moment and they operate just like clock work. No problems! In the end you get what you pay for, do not expect superior results from an entry grade product. However, in this case I would have to say that these did a much better job for me than the entry grade they were designed for. If the electronic thermostat test bed does not come soon, I will finish the resort with these installed instead since they have proved that well. Until I get different results, I will continue to purchase and use these. I am using these in a commercial setting and getting good results, I realize that not every situation will pan out for folks, but these seem to do very well for me. December 1, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Basic Simplicity This is about as basic and simple as a thermostat gets. That being said, it does its job and does it well. This is perfect for situations where an expensive programmable thermostat just isn't needed. This unit does NOT require batteries or any external power source, making it virtually maintenance free. Literally set it and forget it. I often use these to replace the older round models with the vial of mercury in them. These are safer, as they have no mercury, and less prone to damage or accidents compared to those older models. With the older mercury type, they had to be perfectly level, or the temperatures would be off, and were easily bumped into resulting in the setting being changed or the cover getting jammed and it wouldn't work at all. These new thermostats are immune to these problems, although you should still install it level, if for nothing else, so it is straight. If you are looking for an inexpensive, no frills thermostat I highly recommend this model. As a side note... Make sure when you install one of these, to be sure to remove the cardboard shipping tab that is between the contacts. I made this mistake once and got a call back because the customer had no heat. Fortunately it was a simple fix that I walked the customer through over the phone and all was well. January 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Thermostat This thermostat was quite easy to install even though I was required to drill new mounting holes for the base as it had a different foot print than the former thermostat. April 28, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by GARBAGE!!!!!!!! This thermostat is complete garbage and is not worth the money. I install one in my garage and it worked for literally a half an hour then quite. DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP THERMOSTAT!!!!!! Spend a little more and get one that is reliable. October 19, 2010
