How to wire into EIM THMR5421R

Not working would like to install new one.
Asked by: ed
Hi ed, for complete installation instructions, please refer to the manual that comes with the humidifier. In the diagram you'll see in that manual, it shows a humidistat. Your EIM THMR5421R will essentially take the place of the humidistat in that illustration, using the U terminals on the EIM. You'll need to both set up this wiring, as well as program the thermostat for humidifier control. Thanks.

For a 2,000 sq ft home, on average how many gallons of water would be used per day, or how much water flows per minute from a 1/4" supply tube to the Unit?
Asked by: FlowThroughorDrum
Hello FlowThroughorDrum! The Honeywell Flow-Through Bypass Whole House Humidifier will use around 12 gallons per day (gpd) or 46 liters per day (lpd). I hope this is what you are looking for. Thank you.

Customer Reviews

Flow-Through Bypass Whole House Humidifier is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works The review by "RedLouie" should be placed in context. In fact, if he replaced his thermostat with one that allows the blower fan to be left on continuously, then the humidifier would work. Since the blower fans are relatively low power (1/4 HP typical, or less than 200 watts) that is not a big power draw, and the humidifier has time to "humidify" all the air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Well Not to hard to install after watching video. Wiring was a bit confusing, but figured it out. The unit should also include a water control valve. I bought one and installed it in the feed line. This reduced water waste.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as advertised Install was interesting, and a little difficult. Not due to the humidifier, the design of the furnace. I have a 3,300 sqr ft home and this unit will put water drops on the windows if I turn it up too high! I have only had the unit for one year, but up to this point, thanks for a product that performs over the specification limit!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works, but... I have used this humidifier for about 10 years. It does work to some extent, but the pad accumulates lime crust and black mold. The pad is impossible to clean and must be changed often, which is expensive. When the pad gets crusty and moldy, the water tends to run quickly down the front of the pad, and leaks onto the floor. I finally decided to change to a drum-type humidifier with a timed flush valve that eliminates lime buildup.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Install and save money This is a cost effective way to add a whole house humidifier, it beats the small room units that you have to add water to daily. You will have to cut into your duct work and run some wiring; it took me a few hours with a jig saw and tin snips. Adding the water line is easy. Don't buy the units that you have to add buckets of water for just one room. You can get the filters on line and will have to change them out a couple of times through out the winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smart purchase!!! I had a professional install our humidifier and it's working well. The house is being warmed much more efficiently now and this small unit does a great job. Worth the money for sure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great idea under the right conditions. I wanted to eliminate my 2 tabletop humidifiers(hate refilling) and thought this was a great alternative. Installed it myself easily after watching the video.Good tin snips are a MUST! However my furnace blower NEVER runs long enough to have any effect on the humidity levels. This device would probably be good if you have a drafty old house and a furnace running constantly. I added attic insulation this spring and now my home is too efficient for this unit so it's back to the Honeywell tabletops and back to the store to return the whole house Honeywell. Now I have 4 sizable holes in my ductwork to patch.
