After running it for most of the day, this HEPA filter did a nice job of removing dust and smoke odors from our cabin; and both of the allergy-prone members of my family commented that they noticed a significant difference in the air quality... That said, the replacement filters for this unit (and it requires two of them) are over $30 apiece; and the filter cover (i.e. the front of the unit) is ill-fitting and feels like it could easily fall off. All in all though, this is a serviceable, relatively quiet, albeit somewhat pricey, unit that will get the job done in the average room.

My kids have pets which cause my allergies to go into full swing. The Hepa 465 has helped very much. I'm thinking of purchasing another one for our upstairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described. Great product. This air purifier work exactly as described and has made a big difference in my home. I'm going to buy another one for another room. Consumer Reports ranks the Honeywell HEPA (a little different model that covered less square footage, but essentially the same machine) as one of the best, which is why I went with it. It gives a soothing sound, except in Turbo mode, which is pretty loud, which is understandable, but I only run it in that model occasionally. Otherwise, it's always running. A great value for cleaner air in my apartment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for what we need The product is what I expect if not more. I want to encourage anyone purchasing one to inspect the product before leaving the store. Upon getting the product home and unpacking we noticed the unit was all dusty. I took the front cover off and the pre filter was covered in dust. There was no way to know how long or in what environment the unit was ran. Given the price of the filters I called the store immediately. I returned the unit within an hour or so and received credit. There were no more in stock so I offered to buy the display model(filters still wrapped and never plugged in). They agreed and also offered a 20 % discount.

What's up with that, Home Depot? 2. The filter cover flops open, super annoying after just having bought it. You'll need to tape it closed, as another reviewer pointed out. 3. The control buttons are the touch-type, and they work for sh_t. You have to wait 5 seconds or so between instances that you press a "button." If you press it too soon, you have to wait the allotted time all over again. Overall, most of the time they just don't respond. Talk about wanting to get a hammer and trying that . . . 4. The fan makes a high-pitched sound at any speed. And not just a little bit. 5. It does seem to clean the air after several hours in a large room, I wasn't bothered so much by the heavy pollen situation. However, due to its other problems I'm taking this back to Home Depot tomorrow.
