Answer:
These cannot be washed. They would likely disintegrate. You may be able to vacuum them but I don't think it's recommended. It would likely pull the carbon right out of it! They do last at least 3 months and can probably go a bit longer based on how dusty the environment. They are meant to be throw-away however.

Answer:
A) Unfortunately, because these filters are made up of carbon which is used to absorb the odor and gases in the air they cannot be vacuumed or washed. we would recommend replacing the filters every 1-3 months. I hope this information is helpful! Please contact us at 1-800-477-0457 or ConsumerRelations@kaz.com if you require further assistance.

Got this item as the replacement of a very well worn pre-filter for a unit found on my sidewalk, the unit worked good so why not fix it up. After much research found that the original part number as described on the users manual has changed to this particular item. This being the A-plus must be the reason for its price, also it is bit more thick to my replacement. The amount of carbon drop out was not that much to what others experienced. The template provided is for the newer models (HPA09X, 10X, 20X, 30X) but not a 50250 for example, but at least a pre-perforated mark at different levels where provided, so that took care of the height issue (scissors where still used). The length of the sheet was the exact diameter of the large 50250 HEPA filters. The difference in air quality is significant as to my previous unit.

For the Honeywell air purifier model I own, it's a simple matter of removing the front cover, taking the filter out of its protective plastic bag, applying it to the self-stick filter holders, and snapping the front cover back in place. (Don't forget to reset the three-month pre-filter timer.) I've done this twice; no mess, no fuss. Meets my expectations. To determine which pre-filter to buy, simply check your owner's manual. If you misplaced it, look online.

I just cleaned the filter when the indicator light came on. OMG! IT was PACKED with dog fur, pet dander. THIS IS A LIFE SAVER> I don't know how we lived without it. We have one we use in our bedroom, no pets allowed there, and we can tell how clean the air is when we go to bed. We don't run at night in our bedroom I think the noise is a bit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product but overpriced now ... These are good filters. I have been using them for over a decade now with my Honeywell HEPA units. I change them on schedule - every 3 months and I think that's why the main HEPA filters have lasted so long. But - these used to sell for much less at HD. Not sure why they are priced so high now. Not a good value at this price point.
