Our house is a 100+ yr. old Victorian with big radiators so we depend on this Honeywell for continuous air cleaning. By continuous, I mean 24/7/365 for 5 yrs.- we never turn it off!!!! We clean it 4 times a year 1.flip it over and unscrew a 4 inch knob 2. slide out the non-washable HEPA filter and washable foam filter. 3.release the Velcro straps of the foam filter, beat it against the fence and wash it off with the garden hose. It will dry on the fence in no time. 4. replace the HEPA filter once a year just for peace of mind.
This is a real workhorse for the downstairs and we are going to finally get one for the upstairs. Even though the big upstairs humidifier has a filter, dusting needed for the two floors is like night and day.
Yes, it is a little loud on the max. fan setting but we have a very active dog and 3,000 sq. ft. home on a state highway.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Judy The only allergen filter to have.
I believe in the "True HEPA Allergen Remover" from my own experience and the fact that the American Lung Assoc recommends it as their #1 choice. I wore my last two out. And I noticed my morning serial dozen sneezes stopped along with the clear Karo Syrup coating in my mouth and throat disappeared. And the cough that accompanied ended after I started using the Hepa again.
I do have allergies, mild asthma and annual upper respiratory viruses.
My goal is to manage/prevent the above maladies.
IE. when working in the fall yard I am going to wear a mask, shower and wash clothes when done.

Last of the best, Honeywell air purifier is becoming increasingly hard to find. The unit is well made and reasonably quiet. Honeywell replacement filters, (actually a pre-filter (the main Hepa filter needs replaced every 3 years), are readily available at least for now. I usually sleep with a fan going all night, the unit is only slightly louder than my fan. My Southwestern USA seasonal allergies usually begin in late February early March. Consequently it's too early too tell how effective this unit will be, which is why I rated it 4 stars. I have had other Honeywell air purifiers in the past and they performed well over time.

Put it in basement room 10X12 with pergo floor and dropped ceiling. It was very musty and cool. No heat. set to turbo and left on for 3 days. Humidity went down. Set to low and left on, 2 weeks later musty smell gone. This room was a good test case. I would buy another. Downside, kind of big and loud on turbo but thats why they call it Turbo. Free shipping came in a week. Price was OK.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MrHelperMan Exactly what was needed!
We have many pets, with many odors, which can easily overwhelm in a confined bedroom. This device is a soothing nocturnal "white noise" generator that my wife requires to sleep by- with the added benefit of clean, fresh, and healthy air, that is completely odor and pet-dander free!

My husband I bought this air purifier when I was pregnant with our second child in late 2008 from Home Depot. (My asthma and allergies had gotten terrible during the pregnancy).
This was really a GREAT purchase. After 3 and a half years, it is still performing like a champ.
I know reviewers on other similar honeywell models have complained about filters and noise. First off, yes, one of the filters have to be replaced every so often, but it keeps the machine running smoothly and allows the machine to purify the air at an optimum level. The other filter can be vacuumed and doesn't need to be replaced for a few years. We barely replaced ours, not because it was worn, but because we thought we might as well just do it. Other air purifiers that we've had, and we've had MANY over the years (some with reusable, disposable, or "filter free" ), and not any of them have been able to purify the air like this model does.
Addressing the noise issue, we almost always was it on the low setting. It is kept in the bedroom, and even as I sit in the living room 20 feet away, I can still hear it, but it's low. It's actually easier for us to sleep with the "white noise" because it drowns outside city noise. When on high, it is loud, because it is moving a HUGE amount of air. We usually leave it on medium or high when we are leaving the house, or if I am doing some deep household cleaning. In the end, I think the noise is worth the job that it does. Like I've said, we've had other air filters, and some of them were MUCH quieter, or barely made any noise. BUT they did not clean the air as well as this model.
We've recently moved in to a bigger place, and are planning on getting two more of the same or similar models for the rest of the house. It's been that great!

Have a cigar smoker neighbor all the smell and smoke was entering my condo. I purchased the filter and the carbon filterand it has made a world of difference. I am sleeping much better and most allergies have gone. I have had product for approx 2 months now running non stop. Would be great if light could be turned off.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SFret So far, fairly good
It seems to be reducing dust and carpet fibers in the main room. The HVAC filter for the house doesn't seem to be as dirty as usual. I think it is working. It's really easy to operate.
BUT, it is big and in the middle of the room. It is not very quiet, even on low. The fan seems to be just a hair off balance.
Probably worth the money. It does make the air in the house seem a little cleaner when you walk in the house.
