Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by only 70 watts I checked the amount of power my gas stove uses and I couldn't believe it was almost 400 watts the entire time the oven was on due to the glow plug! If I have a power outage my solar back up would not power my gas stove. Weird. So I changed the glowplug to this Honeywell and bam only 70 watts are consumed. Much better, although I wish the thing would shut off after the stove is lit. That is a problem with the stove and not this igniter. September 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product It was a great convenience for my local Home Depot to have this part available and in stock. Especially during a cold weekend when my furnace broke down. Because my local store had this part it saved me a huge repair bill by having to call an outside repair man. Thanks Hanover, Pa Home Depot.. January 17, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works in a pinch As you'd expect with any universal device it isn't exact for all applications. It isn't. I fit it into a Comfortmaker that the ignitor failed over the Thanksgiving weekend of all times (they always fail when everyone is closed). Sure it will work but the brackets weren't identical. I ended up having to drill a hole in one of the brackets to make it fit. Otherwise its fine. It works just like the other, which also was not the original. I can't give it an excellent until I see how long it lasts, 6 months? 2 years? No way of knowing. In a pinch the handyman can make it work. I'll recommend it for that. Long term? It is just a guess at this time. November 27, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glad Home Depot had this item in stock Woke up Sunday morning to a 58-degree house. Phoned two other "big" hardware-type stores. Neither of them carried anything like this, so I was ecstatic when I called local HD and was informed they had these in stock -- on clearance no less! Sent kid down to pick up two, installed in about 15 minutes, and BINGO -- heat! Just hope for the sake of the next schmuck who needs one of these, that HD continues to stock (or something equivalent). March 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding My furnace flame would not stay on for more than a minute. I found this in my local HD and was skeptical about "universal" but after matching the correct bracket from the 6 included brackets I easily installed this device. Turned the furnace on and held my breath. Lo and behold, the thing actually works quite well. I may go back to buy another one to have as a spare. March 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked! Used this product and my furnace fired up on the first try. The instructions aren't great, since they recommended a different mount (A) than the one that actually fit (C), but that's not a big deal. Saved money and a cold Sunday night by doing this myself instead of waiting for a repairman. January 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fits Trane Furnace Fits perfect in my Trane using the "B" supplied bracket, also was on sale for 37 bucks. Gave it a 3 quality because just installed, see how long it lasts, original lasted 4 yrs. January 8, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap way to repair a furnace without hiring a repairman. This item took care of our furnace issue. Definitely recommend over calling a repairman. January 24, 2012
