The vacuum runs on one battery at a time and the charger is separate and can sit on a shelf and stay plugged in. Just like shop tools. The great thing is that the charger uses a standard plug in, not a bulky adapter.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 422 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great I clean two different churches and this vacuum works great. No more extension cords to reach the center of the sanctuary. No more catching the cord on the pews as I steer the head through the maze. One of the sanctuaries seats 120 people and I can vacuum most of it on one battery. It runs full power until a battery dies and then just switch it out for the fresh one. It picks up more dirt than the old professional vacuum I used. At home if I see a spot of dirt on the floor I reach for the vacuum. It's easier than bending over and picking up the dirt. September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good all-purpose vacuum with some really nice features. The vacuum does a good job. Powerful enough to pick up everything that matters, from gravel to dog hair, although a thick rug might want several passes. The battery holds enough power to clean my 1400 square foot house without fading, then recharges quickly. The design is low enough to get about 12" under most furniture without having to move things around. The swivel head is great, it's easy to empty, and being able to turn the brush off and on won me over: most of my rugs have fringed ends, so now they can be cleaned without getting wrapped hopelessly around the brush. Only deficit is that it can't do corners and edges perfectly - gets most stuff, but leaves about a quarter inch that's not quite perfect. But every vacuum cleaner on the planet does that, too, and it's easy to follow up with a hose. Excellent buy. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second one I have bought---this is for a cherished daughter-in-law This easy to use vacumn is just necessary for everyone---does carpet, bare floors with ease. I have had two other cordless vacumns but this is the best. I have bought one for my daughter-in-law and will order another for my granddaughter. GREAT CORDLESS VACUMN---I really hate getting out the corded one now. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great vacuum! This the second one of these that I've purchased. I bought one for my home and liked it so much that I bought another one for my office. I highly recommend this for smaller spaces. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome product!! Bought a dirt devil & had it for 3 months the before the battery went bad & wouldn't hold a full charge. I got this one in it's place & LOVE it!!! The swappable batteries are a plus (although one battery holds a decent charge) great sucking power & the detachable hose is a plus. Everything you could ask for in a full size vacuum but in a compact cordless convince. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty Amazing I confess I was skeptical, but I can't find anything not to like about this vacuum! Sssssooooooo nice not to hassle with the cord! Battery charge lasts just fine. Works well on carpeted stairs and even upholstered furniture. Great with getting up cat hair. The small brush roller tends to get things tangled in it, but it is so easy to remove and replace that I don't find that an issue. I was also concerned that the narrower deck area would mean more work, but it gets in really tight places, so I like that feature better than other machines with larger sweeping decks. I first thought, when I realized how light this vacuum is, that it couldn't possibly be better than my Dyson. Also, because it is so light, it doesn't make the deep vacuum tracks in the carpet that other cleaners do. Because it is so light and doesn't leave deep marks in the carpet, I decided to do a test to see just how well this thing really works: I first vacuumed a small area of carpet with the new Hoover. It picked up a good amount of debris. Then I ran the Dyson over the same area - and it picked up nothing! So now I'm thinking that, in addition to being a great vacuum, it is easier on my carpets. I'm thinking seriously of selling my Dyson on Ebay and getting a 2nd cleaner for upstairs - but wait! It's so light, I don't have to! My quest to find the perfect vacuum is over!! Oh yeah, and I use it more often! :) August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I will never recommended After 2 months the belt start making a weird noise also is not strong enough for cleaning the carpets July 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Power from a Cordless Vacuum! This vacuum is awesome for everything it comes with. I also want to make a special shoutout to the folks at Hoover's packing department. I could not believe how well this item was packed when I received it and how great it was when unpacking to receive instuctions on how to use it while I unpacked it! Next the vacuum is incredibly useful, powerful, and a delight since I do not have to worry about a cord as I clean. The battery lasts for about 1.5 to 2 uses, but Hoover provided 2 batteries so as soon as one quits, I have the backup ready and charged. I will say though, you need to take good care for the rolling brushes as if you leave them for a while, they can get clogged with hair. I recommend cleaning them out once or twice a week. Great product! July 5, 2016
