Does the job. Had a lot of features that other air purifiers didn't offer. I like the UV and IONizer features that can be turned off/on individually. creates the PERFECT white noise for sleep. Love the durability of this product as the UV light is replaceable so you don't have to throw the unit away when it burns out.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Baze Does a good job, bit noisy on higher settings
This is a good air purifier with some nice features. It is a large unit and I keep it at the office since I work in an old building with an old ventilation system and the room is very dusty. The setup was very easy as it was almost plug in ready.
The controls are very simple and their layout is very good and easy to read. There are a few settings one can choose, and my favorite is the automatic since it tells me when the air quality changes in the room. The unit is very quiet on the auto setting, but once it kicks in, especially into higher settings (3 for example) it is a little loud. Nothing too crazy or distracting, basically the level of a small desk fan.
Overall a very good product, although I wish I could test how well it was working.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nusscular Works best at highest setting
This air purifier is quiet at its low and medium speeds, however, after about a month of running the unit at those settings I found nearly no dust or hair on any of the filters. This was really unexpected because we have two cats and one dog so I was expecting to see a lot more junk.
When run on high it seems to do a bit better but it is very loud.
I do like the timer function which can allow you to run the purifier for up to five hours and then shut down. There is not ability to schedule the purifier to run each day for a set amount of time.
The LED lighting seems a little over the top as well. We actually use it as a nightlight in our nursery.
After using this purifier I learned that I am better off changing my HVAC filters more often as they quickly fill up with dirt and hair.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bakingmom Makes the air fresher.
The Hoover air filter does an excellent job of making the air smell fresh. It is easy to operate and clean. It uses a filter made of hepa media and has an icon to let you know when it needs to be changed. It also has a washable pre-filter. It has a lighted display and a remote control with 5 functions: Power, Speed, Ion filter, UV/TIO and Timer. The filter is relatively quiet, like a fan noise. The air that circulates through the filter is cool, which will also be nice in the summer. It is especially helpful for winter here, since our old furnace blows dust through vents. Since I am very sensitive to dust and chemicals I appreciate having this fillter since it makes the air noticeably more breathable.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by sdgiant Full range of filters
OVERALL: Good controls, intuitive and easy. Great range of filtration options, cleans a room quickly. Cleanable foam first filter saves HEPA filter if kept clean. Little noisy at high speed.
FILTRATION: Able to clean a smaller room (10x10 or so) quickly. Foam filter does not clog quickly, but if kept washed does improve life of HEPA filter. UV titanium oxide combo nice, but hard to quantify impact.
APPEARANCE: Good size. High is unobtrusive. It is a foot deep, so it can be a little obtrusive in terms of floor space, but not bad.
LIGHTS: Very bright LED lights. You're not going to want these in your bedroom while your sleeping, but they could be covered. On the upside, the blue looks nice when you aren't trying to snooze.
NOISE: Has four fan levels. Is a little noisy at 2 or 3. Usually leave at automatic, and turns down to low after a short while. Very quiet at low level.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by alti4 I can breathe clean air.
Our allergies are so much better now. I really feel we are breathing cleaner air. My family has had bad allergies, especially bad at night. Since setting up the air purifier we all sleep better. No more stuffy nose. This unit will clean a large room. The screen is easy to read. The lights on the screen are soft and not bright. Hoover makes a quality product. You can adjust the time to run manually or set the timer. It has an automatic shutoff. It has three filters, one filter you can rinse out as needed. The hepa filter will need to be changed when the warning light comes on. 99.97% of dust and pollen removed. Intellisense control system senses air quality. 3 speed fan. Remote control included. This house I am in is older and has a musty smell, this smell is better now. Sleek look that fits in the room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sarah Efficient Air Purified
I have always been skeptical of air purifiers but recently acquired a couple and I am thrilled with the performance of them, this one in particular. First of all, it is a nice design. It's sleek and fairly narrow so I can stick it in an unobtrusive spot. The top of the machine features and LCD panel for the controls (along with a remote control). The buttons are easy to push and it's pretty self-explanatory. The filters are easy to access and there is a light that indicates when you need to change them which is great (I'm not good at remembering stuff like that otherwise).
Functionality is great, too. We are using it in a den that is off of our kitchen. A lot of cooking smells get trapped back there and with a baby, let's just say there are other not great odors that can linger. (TMI? If you're reading this review you're the type of person that likes all the information to fully evaluate.) We had another air purified in the room that was doing a decent job but this one was way better at eliminating odors more quickly. Even when there's not a particularly bad odor, it's nice to run it for a bit to freshen up the air. There is a nice option of a timer so you can set it and not worry about leaving it running forever (which is easy to happen since it's pretty quiet).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MrFixIt A fully featured purifier / fan combo
I recently moved into a new place, and needed some sort of air mover for my bedroom. A fan would be too big and too noisy, and wouldn't necessarily clean the air. An air purifier would be good, but most of those don't really have any air flow. Enter the Hoover Air Purifier. This unit combines both air flow and cleaning in one. An excellent solution from Hoover.
Let's get right down to it. How does this air purifier work? On power-on, the unit defaults to speed 2 with both the UV and the ION on, regardless of what settings you had it on last. That's unfortunate, because most people will pick something that works for them, and stick with it. The 3 speed settings are a very nice feature. This allows the unit to purify the air while being almost whisper quite or act as a fan and blow quite a bit of air.
A fourth speed, the Auto mode, is a big unknown, as mine always defaults to the lowest speed.
One noticeable item is that the air flow from the front isn't uniform. This is due to the two smaller circular fans inside (one near the top, and the other near the bottom) actually doing the pushing, instead of some other type of vertical contraption.
When on, you can immediately smell the ionized air coming from the front, indicating that its working.
The whole unit doesn't rotate, so if you want an oscillation feature, you're out of luck.
The display panel and all the LEDs are surprisingly bright. When the UV function is on, the large blue light bar on the top lights up. I have this unit in my bedroom, and when it's on at night, this light lights up the entire room. This could be good or bad, depending on if you want a bright blue nightlight. The good news is that you can turn it off by disabling the UV.
The back-light on the display icons is also pretty bright, and changes colors from red to blue to green to orange seemingly randomly. Strangely, there's no way to tell what color it will be when you use it, nor a way to choose it manually, making this a completely unnecessary feature.
The Unit comes with a remote control, which is nice, but not necessarily useful. I'd imagine that most people would find a setting they liked and just leave it on. The remote range seems to max out at about 25 feet.
There is a convenient carrying handle in the back top of the purifier making moving the unit quite easy.
The power button light on the front of the unit is bright green. Even when turned off, the light pulses ominously. This could also be a bit annoying if you want your bedroom totally dark.
There are two filters that are are easily accessible in the back of the unit. The first is a washable pre-filter. I greatly appreciate the ability to hand wash this filter, as it will lengthen the life of the secondary HEPA filter. This second filter, Hoover# AH60015, can be purchased from Amazon for about $25. There is also the ability to replace the UV lamp in case it burns out. Hoover# 440001064 can be purchased from Hoover.com for $38.
An added safety features turns off the entire unit if you open the back filter cover while it is running.
A very nice full featured and compact air purifier. 3 speeds along with a UV function and Ionization allows the user to chose a mix of settings to their liking.
Lots of bright and confusing lights can be problematic if you want a dark bedroom. Washable filter and user serviceable parts from Hoover means this air purifier will last you a long time.
A small remote is included. An excellent overall design from Hoover.
