Customer Questions & Answers

How to remove bottom of vacuum. To change belt.

Asked by: Rae
Hi Rae! To access the belt on your Cyclonic please release the pedal and recline the handle to the lowest position. Use a coin to turn the two slots located on each side of the hood. Now the hood can be removed by rotating it towards you. Remove the brushroll and discard the old belt. Slide one end of the new belt onto the motor shaft, then place the other end over the rounded end of the brushroll without bristles. Align the brushroll back into place and ensure it turns easily. Align the slots on the hood with the slots on base of the cleaner. Pivot hood into back into position and secure by turning the coin slots. Hope this helps! –Karissa, Hoover Customer Care

Hi Crags7! Here are some tips to get your Cyclonic back picking up. 1. Be sure the brushes are spinning. 2. Remove the final filter and secondary filter. Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great vac for price This little vac is great for the price. I have a very expensive Kirby (I didn't buy it) that I have personally hated for years. This vac cleans better than the Kirby on my hard floors and area rugs. It's also quieter and no bags to buy. Pros: Quieter No bags to buy-has a dust cup Washable perm. filters On board tools, power brush, etc. Sucks up everything on my hard floors and I have lots of pets. One swipe and was clean. Handle telescopes and in shortest position, it's longer than the Kirby Cons: Cord not long enough Hose to use off vac. could be longer Slightly tippy till you get the hang of it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine This machine is a powerful suctioning vacuum. We got it out of the box and it picked up tons of things my other vacuum was leaving behind. It's simply to manuever, bends so it can go under beds, and is easy to turn on. It is also not as loud as my old vacuum. The ONLY thing I didn't like about it, is that if you have a lot of animals (we have 3 furry creatures) and vacuum up a lot of hair, it can be somewhat challenging to empty the canister because the hair stays at the top of the machine. I have allergies and don't like to touch it all to get it out, but other than that, it's awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome piece of equipment Bought this vacuum to take care of little messes in my office buildings. The attachments all work with outstanding results. Not too loud but powerful yet. After taking down some chairs in a conference room I decided to vacuum the floor just for the heck of it. The floor didn't look bad at first, but after going over it with this Hoover, the results were astonishing. It picked up more dirt and dust than I would have ever guessed was on the floor. Good job Hoover! You nailed it on this one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hoover Cyclonic My wife and I were ready for a new vac. Before I bought this I completely vacuumed my living room with our old vac. We bought the Hoover Cyclonic and unpacked it and vacuumed the same area. This was the test to see if we would keep it or not. WOW! This thing found dirt, hair and all kinds of stuff. I am really amazed at the difference. Good job Hoover!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Messy to empty, Brush broken after a year The One thing I hated the most out of this vacuum was it was messy to empty because the dust and dirt would never just empty out, it would become lodged inside the canister and I would have to remove the entire mechanism (getting my hands full of dust) and remove the dust manually or bang it on the side of the trashcan outside to get it out. Now, just over a year after getting this thing the brush is broken, the belt is still perfect but the brush is all mangled inside where the screws that hold it onto the vacuum is. What a piece of garbage. I've never had a vacuum last me less than five years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Labor Intensive you must clean 4 filters I used this vacuum twice for cleaning in my home. It replaced a Ro... vacuum with a bag. I found this Hoover Cyclonic Bagless Upright to be larger and more unwieldy and harder to clean. I took a break from cleaning my sink area in my kitchen (which now is really dirty from cleaning the filters) to write this review. The box does not list the internal filters (which clogged up right away during the first cleaning) which must be cleaned after each use. This machine is very heavy and cannot get under very many areas due to being so wide at the front. I would have to do all the vacuuming from now on, as the other member of the household does not have the strength required to push it. The cord is much shorter than the last vacuum I have been using. I am covered in very fine dirt from unloading the dirt cup about eight times this afternoon. I will see if I can get my money back from the retailer. If not, this will get thrown in a corner of my closet or donated to a local children's home. OH, also, you DO have to purchase filters--the internal filter does have to be replaced once in a while. The recommended brushing of the one filter (you can't wash it) results in some dirt coming off after you brush it for about 5 minutes, but you can still see dirt in the holes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY!!!!! So I've gone through 2 bagless vacuum's before I purchased this one. They both stopped working did what they said to do in the manual and still they didn't work. So I went without a vacuum for a while. I finally looked online and saw lots of bad reviews on vacuum's and then I saw some good review's on hoovers (i'm guessing reviews were put up at the beginning of using the vacuum). Well it worked excellent the first time I used it (keep in mind i've had it for like 2-3 months now), picked up a lot of dirt in just the 1st use I emptied like 3 times. Well a few weeks ago I used it again (keep in mind I'd used it like once a week if even that before it gave out) and in the middle of vacuuming my living room it stopped I thought maybe it got unplugged so I checked and no it wasn't so then I thought maybe the outlet went out, but no everything else worked. I then came online to start reading reviews on my specific vacuum and found that people posted about it overheating and letting it rest then it'll work again. I haven't even vacuumed half of my living room and it went out. It started working 15 minutes later and I used it for a few minutes and it crapped out again. I'm waiting for a call back from the company. I don't know how people are giving it 3 star rating, I didn't even want to give it one star, but I was forced to choose a star. Do not buy this vacuum
