Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Leaks Like Crazy First use was great. Since then water pours out of the rear of the machine. This is not a subtle dribble but rather a soaking spigot. I looked and found this is a common problem with this device. There is a hole in the back of the machine and the water will pour right out of it when you lower the handle to use the machine. I'm not sure what the function of this hole is but it makes using this product terrible. I bought this one because it was the nicest non commercial cleaner at Home Depot on their shelf. I wish I would have researched it a bit more because there are many comments about this leaking issue. Before the leaking started the machine worked wonderfully. Too bad it wasn't designed to continue to work. September 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of Money! Broke after two uses. I bought this machine about 4 months ago, I live in a one bed-room 800 sqft home; only the bed-room is carpeted and there is a small area rug. The first use I had to mess with the dirty water tank for 45 minutes before it would pick up the water, next I notice that the brushes are not moving. I gave it the benifit of the doubt and cleaned it up for the next use. The carpet remained wet for hours, I don't want to think about the amount of dirt that stayed in the carpet. The next time I tryied to use it, the brushes was completely broke, it would not pick up any water, and I have figured out that the only place this machine will be of any service is the city dump!! I will never buy another Hoover product! September 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Designed to break The brush head is designed to sell parts for Hoover. The brushes run off a tiny single plastic stem that breaks under normal use. If you just touch anyting with the clear plastic brush housing it binds the brushes and snaps off the single stem making $30 for Hoover. September 24, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible!! I have had several hoover products over the years and when I saw this one, I could not wait to buy it. BIG MISTAKE!!!!! I am having the same problem with the valve leaking. It leaks so bad, that I have gone through an entire bottle of hoover carpet cleaning solution -- this is after only one use. The valve becomes stuck and you have to poke at it to unstick it. I had the unit on rinse only and the detergent poured out. I now have soapy carpeting and will need to have some one come out and professionally clean my rugs. Very disappointed in Hoover. WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER HAD BY HOOVER. August 22, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Broke during first use The good: It definitely gets out tough carpet stains. It's effective but slow...expect several rounds of emptying dirty water tanks and refilling the clean ones. The bad: Mine broke during first use. Somehow the brushes were jammed, and caused the pin that connects to the turbine to break. To make matters worse, I contacted Hoover directly (because there is a sticker on the product that said do not return to store, call Hoover with any problems), but their support was also disappointing. Ironically, one of the first things the customer service rep suggested was for me to take it back to the store. It was only after I pointed out that the sticker advised me to contact them first that a serious attempt was made to troubleshoot the problem. I'll spare you the details but it took nearly a month to get a replacement brush-block. The 3rd disappoint is that the dirty water tank leaks a little. It beats me why they would assemble the walls of the tank with what appears to be some sort of glue instead of using a unibody design. I think Hoover's engineers misplaced their priorities on appearance instead of the absolute best build quality. In short, it looks pretty, it works, but flimsy materials used for assembly. In my non-expert opinion, this product will suffer a catastrophic failure after 15-20 uses in a 1000 sq ft sized home. August 15, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unhappy customer This unit was used twice and is useless. The plastic pin that drives the bristles is broken and it doesn't appear on the Hoover list of available parts. I will not purchase another Hoover carpet cleaner or vacuum. Poor quality. September 16, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Back of cleaner leaks a ton of water all over Bought this less than 2 years ago and have only had to use it a couple of times. It leaks water out of the back of the machine the entire time you use it and it leaks out all over the floor even when the handle is upright. I end up cleaning up a puddle of water where ever I go with this machine. September 14, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Agitator Brushes I bought this a little over two years ago the agitator brushes broke I replaced them only to have them break the second time I used it, the first hoover I had lasted for 5 years I bought this for the brushes. but it keeps breaking. September 4, 2015
