We are an older couple and needed a lightweight easy cordless vacuum to pickup quick at the end of day. We have a dog that dribbles food on kitchen floor. A cat that likes to roll around on floor so pet hair pickup it important. I have had cordless Vacs in past and was truly hesitant to try another one. We searched in stores and online. The battery life was one factor and the Hoover Linx met our need. It works perfectly and my husband who has a bad back just enjoys zipping through the floors at end of day. Easy to charge battery and to empty dirt cup. This has been a pleasure to actually have a cordless unit that does what it says it will do!!!

and uses it everyday so I luv it also..................... (this is a duplicate review....I didn't send a picture of the Hoover vacuum in my original review which I submitted about 30 minutes ago). Attached is the picture -- which if you look closely you will see it is vacuuming an Home Depot area rug that we purchased a few years ago--we are regular consumers at HD.

I have had mine for a year and love it! I have five cats and I am vaccuming daily. It picks up cat litter and I am always amazed how much cat hair I empty out of the container after each use. I purchased an extra battery so I always have one charged & ready to put in when the one I am using has run out. I have one of Hoover's other cordless stick vaccums that has a removable had vac but it doesn't do near the job that this one does. This one goes in our RV when we are on trips and back into the house when we are home. Just love it.

My house looks like a vacuum museum! My wife is obsessed with vacuuming, (as long as I do it). We've gone through several Sears Kenmore canister models over our 45 years of marriage. They don't make them like they used to! Plus they are big, heavy and unwieldy. We have had several small dustbusters, they suck (or maybe the problem is, they don't suck) We have a Roomba, that only turns in circles. And when it "worked" you had to stop and clean the brushes every 10 minutes. We've had a couple of, what I call, a "dust buster on a stick" type machines, and, couple of small light-weight stand up vacs. We now have a Hoover Linx Cordless. So far, it works great, seems powerful, the charge lasts a long time and it even looks nice! Time will tell. I hope we can use it for a long time before it has to be added to the Vaccuum Museum in the spare bedroom!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by tmchicago Great, until roller stopped after 13 months!
Wife loved the vacuum, especially the ability to turn the roller brush on and off, until the roller stopped working after 13 months. It still vacuums, but roller won't spin. Found out this is a very common problem (wiring issue) and the repair costs almost as much as a new unit on sale. Not pleased at all.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kate11 Super convenient!
Been using now for about 6 months and I love this small, lightweight but powerful and thorough vac. I used it initially as my main, whole house vac. I love it because it lifts matted carpet in high traffic areas, and removes cat hair easily. It's lightweight enough that I can even lift it onto the bed to vac away cat hair from my matelasse spread where the cat sleeps. Switches perfectly from carpet to area rugs to hardwood and tile/linoleum. We live in a two-story so it's easy to carry from floor to floor. The battery charge lasts just long enough to do one whole floor thoroughly at a time. Great for very small areas, and in spaces that must be swept, it picks up the sweepings (with the brushroll turned off) without throwing them. I would recommend this great little vac to anyone...it's actually FUN to use!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by 44DavidC Not the best engineering
Pluses: very handy, kinda fun to use, battery is going just fine after two years.
Minuses: poor engineering (you stick the top part of the handle onto the bottom assembly and bolt it into place, but where it attaches breaks easily because it takes a lot of stress). You have to handle it very gingerly, or this part fails. I use duct tape to keep it together—rather rickety (see where I'm pointing in the picture).
Also, the brush assembly failed, too—it no longer turns. Tried doing everything in the instructions, no joy.
Unfortunately, I'm out of the two year warranty, so I'm out of luck (unless one of the kind Hoover reps who monitor this site take pity on me.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by chris42 Works well enough, but has a design flaw.
You get what you pay for - there probably is a reason a Dyson costs so much more than this Hoover. It cleans well enough, I like the way the battery can be removed to charge, much like a power tool, but the canister falls out at the slightest provocation. If you're very careful with it and don't bump it into anything or pick it up too quickly you'll probably be ok. I have to say I'm kinda disappointed, I thought it would be better.
