Overall, this has been a great steam vacuum. We've got babies and a dog, and it gets used a LOT. Only problems I've had are the brush breaking off, which I was able to replace myself easily, and a new problem that's just started. The reservoir is leaking for no reason through the black spray hole underneath even when I'm not pressing the trigger. If I sit the unit just on the floor, it will empty the whole contents and I'll have a nasty sopping mess to clean up. Not sure how to fix this. My interim fix is to quickly spray the soap as fast as I can, remove the reservoir quickly so no more comes out, and then use the vacuum to suck up all the water. It isn't ideal because it means that the water is sitting on some parts of the carpet for longer than I want it to and is harder to recover. Hoping someone from Hoover will give me an idea to a solution.

I love this SteamVac! We have pets and heavy traffic on the carpets. Easy to use, store and works great! We have bought several for our kids/grands! The carpets look and feel great after using them. Our 4 year old one is not having an issue.
One issue in all of them ~ the black tube will leak out the reservoir water. Can't figure out how to prevent it. Seems like something is not sealing properly.
Works great on kitchen floors too! Picks up water easily and quickly!
Definately would recommend it to one an all!

One of the first issues we had was the hose pouring the detergent right out through the bottom of the unit. Not to pleased, too expensive for service calls so we modified it and now have no attachment to use. After two years the suction stops working. It must be the plastic deforming because we keep it clean and I know how to properly secure the tank lid. Just not thrilled and this was the second Hoover we've owned in five years as the first one had similar problems and it was cheaper to just but this one new versus fixing the old.

I bought this 3 years ago and clean carpets 2x a year. Went to clean today and water ran out and soaked carpet. I am pretty handy so I took unit apart and found cracked off parts on the little assembly on the bottom of the machine where the soapy water goes right before it gets sprayed onto the carpet. Obviously it wasn't a good seal with these cracked parts so the water just flowed out. Under NORMAL use these parts should crack like that. I really loved this machine at first but now am very disappointed.

I bought this item as a replacement for one I presently have which is about 16 yrs old and is breaking down. The new unit does not have rotating brushes when compared to the older unit which I think is a plus. Other than that they are about the same

Have not put this Hoover to heavy duty cleaning, until recently, really needed to clean carpets for my family room, I have dogs. During December 2012 I had difficulty w/the unit not picking up excess water. Viewing Hoover's video, I may not have aligned that tank correctly, so, I will do carpets again in the Spring of 2013, then affirm if it is was misalignment of the tank or if something is wrong with the unit. Originally, it worked great! Wish me luck!

Used 3 times - water pours out from underneath unit. Called Hoover C/A and was told it was the pump (!).......and out of warranty so up to me to pay repairs. Really disappointed in the quality, would not buy another Hoover.....

Poor quality, poor workmanship. Another cheaply made Chinese product. I sent it right back as soon as I took a look at it. It probably wouldn't have lasted through two uses.
