Personally I find this to be the vacuums only "flaw" or downside, but for the price and effectiveness I am willing to deal with it.
Also the dirt cup empties from the bottom by a lid that is NOT detachable - this is what makes it a little "messy". Read Less

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 251 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by cleans carpet well good carpet cleaning, but... the hose is so short and will not expand well due to the very good suction while trying to use attachments. April 22, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Satisfied I've had this for a couple of years. The power is very good even when using the attachments. I've used the Turbo Tool twice to clean up latte spillage where carpet stain remover was needed on the floor and a sofa. Filters work well and emptying/cleaning is easy. It has a 'trap door' to empty the dirt from the cup. I recently moved into a new house that has no carpet. The Hard Floors position isn't performing at 100%. Sometimes I use the crevice tool to vacuum what it misses. I wish there were a hard floor brush extension I could purchase. March 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk We bought this vacuum a few month ago and it is junk, it has been through 3 belts and the motor is so loud it hurts your ears! April 13, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rumbling brushroll Found this vacuum two months ago but the only problem is that the brushroll makes a loud rumbling sound it is still usable the vacuum but I don't like the sound the brushroll makes when it is in upright mood and when the vacuum is tilted back for vacuuming April 29, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hardly used and now it will not turn on This has been used very little. Now when we turn it on it will only run for a minute or two and that is it. Not happy. April 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by More than I expected for cleaning. My Son owns a Hoover Bagless, a different model, & is Happy with his, which is probably the main reason that I bought my Hoover sweeper. Second would just be the Hoover name. I've used my sweeper twice so far, & overall, I'm Happy with it. If I had to do it again, I would have bought a model with a Headlight, but it's really not that big of a deal. I'm really surprised at how much dirt, dust & hair from my 2 cats my sweeper picks up. It shows me just how inefficient my old sweeper was actually working. The product description actually says that emptying the dirt cup, just push the button & dirt comes out without having to touch it with your hands. I find that's true, But, I do actually have to reach up in the dirt cup & remove the cat hair myself. It won't come out on it's own. The product description also said filters should be cleaned at least every 2 months under normal use. I actually had to wash my rinsable filter after the second use. I feel the location of the cord on the back of the sweeper, down at the bottom, is in kind of an inconvenient place. But I suppose it was the best place to put it. I tried using the Cord Clip to help, but it was so tight, it left a bad indentation in the cord & I never used it again. I feel the Powered Hand Tool doesn't have a lot of suction, & you have to be careful not to push down too hard when using it, but it does do an adequate job. For my own personal cleaning purposes, I feel it's inconvenient for me to have to have the cord completely unwound from around the hooks, for me to be able to use the cleaning hose. Since my sweeper is new, I feel it's going to take a little time for the sweeper hose to relax enough to be able to use it without as much difficulty, especially for the 10' overhead cleaning that the product advertises. So far, I guess I'm Happy with the Sweeper, just because of how clean I feel it gets my carpets & rugs. I would buy another Hoover Bagless Sweeper again, just a different model next time. April 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase!! I had the smaller version of the Hoover wind tunnel in my apartment. When I moved to a little bigger place, I replaced it with this and I LOVE this vacuum!! No more bags!! It's so easy to clean and KEEP clean and the suction is great!! Only complaint is that the button JUST stopped working after having this for a year. So maybe I should remove a star...but before I had to take this in to replace the on/off switch...I had absolutely NO problems. My older smaller Hoover I use upstairs, even though it's light enough to take up the stairs. March 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works...Maybe Too Well PROS: Fairly light weight. Quoting Barry Manilow's jingle: "Hoover it really sucks!" (In a good way). Has nice accessories (Turbo Tool). Easy to assemble out of the box. Just one screw to easily attach to main unit, takes all of 1 minute or less. *ON THE FENCE: Dirt Cup empties from the bottom by a lid that is NOT detachable. Accustom to the dirt cup emptying from the top with a detachable lid. I find that I have to tap the dirt cup on the side of the trash can and or use my fingers to pull out matted dirt. CONS: I have but one 8x10 area rug that is as low as a rug can be. With this Wind Tunnel I have to set the level to [2] ! Technically I should be able to set it to [1]. If I set it to one the vacuum would dig up concert! If I put it on [3] it really doesn't do the job (brush doesn't reach the floor and suction too far from floor to suck up anything from carpet). On level [2] the vacuum was pressing down to hard onto the carpet causing a "odor" such as maybe a belt burning, but really I think it was the carpet and or brush becoming too hot due to the amount of pressure the brush was putting onto the carpet. The vacuum also became a little difficult to push and pull. (The vacuum did NOT however, suck / pull the rug up off of the floor and I do not have the rug taped down to the tile floor). This is a GOOD thing! NOTE: I returned the first Wind Tunnel within two weeks due to the CON thinking it might be a flaw. Second one does the same thing, but not nearly as bad. Previously and still, I owned the "Hoover Fold Away Bagless Upright" for 13 YEARS! The "Front Wheel Assembly" finally gave out in 2013 - 14. I had been duct taping it into place as I really only use the vacuum to pick up what I sweep up and cobwebs etc. I would of just order the $6.50 pat to replace and continue with my BELOVED Hoover vacuum however, it requires filters that are expensive and needs to be replaced often. I would have bought the new model of the "Fold Away" as it has the same filter as the Wind Tunnel however, it does not have the jazzy "Turbo tool" accessory that cleans furniture etc of the the Wind Tunnel =( During my decision to have my first Wind Tunnel returned or repaired. I opted for return only because the repair shop said two weeks before I would be able to clean again opposed to return and get a new one "same day". HOOVER Customer Service was EXTREMELY helpful! Willing to do whatever made this Customer happy! Home Depot also extremely helpful in the return. January 14, 2016
