We have a 3X5 wool area rug by the entrance that the cat loves. I vacuum it regularly, but didn't feel like the old vac was doing a good job any more, so I bought this hoover windtunnel pet vacuum. After I had already vacuumed twice with the old one, the windtunnel pet pulled a disgusting amount of hair, dirt, and grime out of that rug. I was stunned how much came out by using the new vacuum.
I am very impressed.

I am not happy with this vacuum. I purchased it in July 2015 and had problems within a few months. In December had a cracked base & had to replace motor. After repaired still having some problems Filter compartment keeps popping out. Also found this machine to be heavier that I like.

My roommate & I fight over who gets to do the vacuuming because it works so well and is a breeze to change attachments. And we both hate any kind of housework.

We have 3 inside dogs so there is a lot of pet hair to say the least. I bought the vacuum cleaner to catch up on some cleaning since are last vacuum died the week before.. I have to say it was easy to assemble and get to work.. It has a hepa filter on it so there was no puffs of dust. I am very happy with this purchase. Its a nice mid level vacuum.

This is the second WindTunnel I have owned. The first one lasted 15 years and was a higher priced model. This model is a good buy for the money but it lacks some of the attachments and the second extension rod that my old one had. The retractable cord is a plus but the cord is considerably shorter than on my old one requiring changing electrical outlets more frequently. The old adage that you get what you pay for is true. I have only used it once but it seems to have good suction. I considered returning it because it didn't have all the attachments that I like to use, but then i realized I could use the attachments from my old vacuum.

First of all, this is a great vacuum cleaner. I am only writing to point out three (3) design features that need to be improved/revisited. After only having the machine a couple of months, I experienced the failure of the two posts on the bottom of the canister where the bottom door is located. This causes the canister to be not securely fasted when emptying or cleaning. Luckily the vacuum pressure is sufficient to hold the door closed during operation. These need to be strengthened so as not to break so easily. The second design feature that needs to be addressed is the cord holding clip that is located immediately below the handle loop. This is a great feature to anchor the cord (keep it from retracting) and hold it up out of the way of operation. This clip broke off the handle after about 8 months use. The third and final item is the attachment that removes pet hair. While it functions perfectly when new, all the internal parts soon become impacted by the debris acquired during regular operation requiring major disassembling in order to remove all the hair, etc., that has accumulated around all the areas with movable parts, i.e. bearings and belt drive. This cleaning operation takes quite some time to carefully remove, clean and reassemble the parts.
It is for these reasons that I cannot rate this any higher than the 4 stars that are assigned. Hoover still makes a great line of cleaning equipment. Our family has depended on Hoover for decades and will continue to do so.
