Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Maddiegirl 5 stars until I tried it on thick carpet...
Ok, like my title states: I would have given this product 5 stars but when I tried it on my carpet that had recently been installed.....well, even on the highest carpet level....I had to push with all my might. I was so disappointed especially since it has so many cool features. However, it does work nice on hard wood and regular carpeting but not so good on plush carpet...at all. I'm still recommending this product soley on all it's features and if you don't have super padded, thick carpet...this would be an excellent choice. The features (see all the pictures I've included). My favorite is the retractable cord...no more winding, just hit the lever and your cord retracts (LOVE!). There is an indicator light letting you know when it's time to clean your filter, so no more guess work (LOVE). It comes with several attachments and there is also a seperate lever when using those. It has a lot of suction, for sure and the overall look of the vacuum is spectacular. It also features a no mess handling when it comes to emptying the unit; simple touch of a button, the bottom of the cylinder opens and out comes the dirt that you've vacuumed up. I wish it would have worked better on my carpet, it has everything going for it except for that...if that isn't something that you have then I would totally recommend this product :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Araxiel Powerful, efficient, functional
We bought this as an ancillary vacuum to a Panasonic canister vacuum, which while good foir many uses, did not get our carpets as clean as I hoped. The Hoover was shipped promptly and was easy to assemble. After reading through the instruction manual, I switched it on and vacuumed a rug area of approximately 18' x 28' to see what it could do. It did plenty. The amount of grunge, sand, fiber and fine grit it sucked up was eye-popping. This is not a "self-propelled" vacuum, so it does require a bit of effort to push it around, but the results were worth it. I have not owned it long enough to attest to its relaibility, but I am pretty sure it is going to be a good choice. It seems well built, and the cord rewind feature sealed the deal. The dirt collecter is easy to empty. All in all, I am happy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Walkingstick616 Great Vacumn
Bought this for the basement after our old one broke. It works so well and really picks up the cat hair, that we made it our Number 1 home vac. It actually lifts the nap of the carpet and makes it look new again. I'm sold on this Vacumn from now on.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ariana Too much maintenance to keep it running
I've had this vacuum for approximately 14-15 months. I empty the canister religiously, and don't allow it to get too full. I bought extra washable filters so I wouldn't have to wait 24 hours for one to dry after rinsing it. Over the last few months, it would overheat and shut off after vacuuming just one or two rooms, and would have to sit at least an hour before it would run again. It died last night, despite not barely having any dirt in it, after a whole five minutes of use. I got mad and took the canister outside, took the thing completely apart, which I'd never done before. (This is not listed anywhere in the manual as part of the required maintenance.) There are three screws under the top filter lid that can be removed, giving you access to the inside of the canister. There were big dust bunnies up inside the chrome colored (plastic) area, where you normally have no access during normal maintenance. There was also a big dust clog inside the red cone shaped piece, which you also can't really access in normal maintenance. I used a garden hose and blasted all the canister parts clean, dried thoroughly, and then left the canister taken apart and open to dry overnight in front of a fan. Then I put everything back together in the morning, with a new filter, and it still wouldn't start. After chatting with a Hoover rep online, she recommended unplugging it and letting it sit an hour. This worked, and it now will run again. I noticed shortly after purchasing this vacuum that it seemed to run much hotter than any other vacuum I have owned. This seems to be a chronic problem. It runs hot already, then add in the strain of dust clogs you can't see or easily remove, and you have a constant overheating problem. Very poorly designed. I am extremely disappointed with this vacuum and will never purchase another!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Realtorlaura it's pretty? but doesn't work well , keeps wearing
I bought this about a year ago , but didn't start using till last month my husband liked our last vacuum and wanted me to take this one back. I probably should have, it doesn't pick up like our old Hoover, the belt stretched out within 10 uses of vacuuming the entire house. Ia really heartbroken, I am a hoover person and the hubby is a Bissel person.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BLarion56 overheats and shuts off
So disappointed in this. When it runs its ok but as others have said the rewind cord does not totally rewind but the worst part is I only get part of a room done and it overheat and shuts off. I have checked the filter and keep everything emptied and clean but still it dies. It used to start again after it cooled but now it is dead, dead, dead.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by jimf good scution, pick up great, cord sucks
vacuum pick up great, be sure you carpet adjustment is right or the cord will get hot
from drawing to mine amps, the placement of the rewind cord is terrible, you have to throw it over your shoulder so you dont keep on running over it, uo it is an OK vac at best

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cheapthrills91 Nice Features, Light Weight and Quite
Replacing a Kenmore Progressive bagged upright. Was looking for something with a 12amp motor and long hose, which I use often. Unfortunately, there isn't much out there with a +10' long hose. Kenmore is the longest. This bagless vacuum is very good in carpet mode but is not very good when you go to the hose. Far less suction than my old Kenmore. Only about 15 lbs which is nice. Retractable cord is also nice feature, however because of it's placement(low) it ends up getting tangled, so you have to hold it up and loose another 3 feet of cord. Cord length is pretty short as it is. Attachments are just OK. Replacement parts are a lot cheaper than Kenmore. Hope this Hoover holds up. The biggest problem with Kenmore was that it was built like a tank, but the attachments were flimsy and broke and expensive to replace.
