Answer:
You need to wash your sheets on high heat before sleeping on them. You can treat your mattress with this product, but it's only intended for spraying seams and tufts. Let the mattress dry and air out thoroughly before sleeping on it.

Coverage will depend on how heavily you spray and to what extent you treat, but 2 gallons should be plenty for a four-bedroom home.

1 gal. Ready-to-Use Bed Bug Killer is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 92.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked wonders!! Excellent product This is the second time around having to try and get rid of bed bugs. The first time they were just in our couch and I used a combination of the good night bed bug spray and diatomaceous earth after the spray dried. That worked well. This time we had them in both bedrooms AND the couch. I was mortified and at my wits end. This product was only $10 and worth a try. I sprayed my daughters baseboards, floor, under her wooden crib, under all her dressers and all around. The very next morning i saw a few dead bedbugs laying around on her floor. We had them terrible in our bedroom. I was waking up at night itching and had huge embarrassing welts all over my back, arms, legs, it was terrible. I bought 2 cheap mattress covers from Ollie's and used this spray on our hardwood floors, baseboards, removed the dresser drawers and sprayed all inside and behind the dresser. I didn't see any colonies, any live bugs at all. That night I FINALLY sleep wonderfully. I haven't been bitten since. I have seen a few dead ones on our floors so it had to be the combination of the spray as well as the mattress covers. Only cons were that it does have a strong smell. I was coughing and had a runny nose spraying it in our small bedrooms, maybe I used too much, but I would gladly take that over being bitten!
