Does the bedbug & flea fogger kill bed bug eggs & larvae?

Asked by: hawk
Nope... it is a waste of money!

Once the fog dispates, do surfaces need to be wiped down? How about the mattress or box spring? Can you just put the sheets on and be fine?

Asked by: Ralf
Ralf, it's not necessary to wipe down surfaces in the treated area. You only need to air out as directed on the label.

Do we have to disconnect the smoke detecters as well?

Instructions state turn off gas and I thought I'd just turn the main breaker to make sure nothing in the house has power to be running but nothing is said about the battery operated smoke alarms. So should I remove the battery from all the smoke alarms? Thanks
Asked by: ramrodbaker
I don't...battery powered stuff doesn't have enough power to spark. They are giving these precautions as the foggers fill your house with a potentially flammable mixture with air though it's my opinion that the probability of reaching the lower flammable limit is low unless you do something really dumb, like placing a fogger right next to a furnace that has a pilot light with the door open . For myself, I don't go so far as killing the main breaker. I do shut down the central air & heat and any fans; you don't want that moving the fog around.

Does this bedbug and flea fogger also kill flea eggs? I need a Hot Shot fogger that kills both the adult fleas and the eggs.

Asked by: rambo2011
Don't use anything made by Hotshot, stuff is garbage at does not kill anything it says.

Bed Bug and Flea Killer 2 oz. Aerosol Fogger (3-Pack) is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 248.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from PLEASE READ!! Okay so what the label doesn't tell you is that this leaves NO RESIDUE behind. I called the number provided on the back of the box and a customer service rep stated that the fogger doesn't leave residue behind so it's best to use the hot shot spray with it. I think a lot of people use just the spray by itself or the fogger by itself and you CAN NOT. You have to use both. The fogger does work but it doesn't work alone. Using the spray, fogger, and killer powder is a great combo for maximum effectiveness. They definitely should put like a fine print on their products recommending other products to use in combination this is why I only gave it a 3.

Place one can in each room (Bedroom, Living Room, Dining Room, both kids rooms and both bathrooms) Left the home for 24 hours to let the residue just lay there on the tile. I came back to find little black beetles everywhere and they were alive but no Bed Bug. 2 days later on my bathroom wall was an adult bed bug alive and well. Couple of days later I saw another bed bug not an adult yet but you know it did morph into its next stage and yes this was alive an well. Never buying a fogger again.

We had sprayed in the room to get the crevices and cracks, etc., and had torn apart the bed and other areas in the room. I set off the fogger on two consecutive days and thought we were good. Within 3 or 4 days we found a bed bug again on consecutive days. I surveyed the room and sprayed again and did the 3rd fogger just yesterday. My wife is still seeing bites and we're still working through trying to rid our room of these pests. Our room remains torn up and I'm continuing to spray and fog, but limited succcess yet.

We had a bad flea infestation in a property we owned, so I figured I'd just bomb it a couple of times and get rid of them. After bombing the entire house 4 times with about 45 cans total, I think the fleas multiplied. Just walking in and around the house I would have a couple of dozen fleas crawling up my legs. The house was empty this whole time, so I don't know how they were surviving with nothing to eat. I finally called an exterminator who sprayed the house and eliminated the flea infestation.

My main problem was with Box Elders, and this is the only one I found with it on the label. It seems this year I have been overrun with them. So, I did it one time and I found dead elder bugs everywhere after that, so it did the trick. But I still had some new ones entering, so I did a second time and haven't seen any in weeks now, so it worked. The second time I did both upstairs and downstairs, whereas I had only done downstairs the first time (as that is where they primarily were).

I tried that but the bugs were alive. I doubled the amount but no luck. In the third time I used 5 foggers for one room but no success. I had to take apart the furniture and remove everything i can to find where they hide. I bought a bed bug mattress cover. I bought a gallon of Hot Shot bed bug and i sprayed directly at the bugs but they were still moving. I had to flood them with the spray until they finally died. But that is only what t saw that day and I thought that I was done. I went to sleep in that room and they visited me again in bed. I had to remove everything again and look for them and spray directly. I had to flood them with the spray until they die. I had to do that for several days. Now for two nights I have not seen them. I hope I got rid of them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked Somewhat We set off the foggers and left them all day for 10hrs, which was well past the recommended minimum time of 2hrs. The fleas were gone for 5 days, and then we started getting hit again. So apparently eggs hatched and now we have another generation of fleas. We've done 4 rounds of these foggers over the past 2 months and we STILL have fleas.

I found some a few adults and some younger ones in a chair in the Living room. That chair went outside into 20 degree weather to never return. Began placing all clothing and bed linens in bags and taking to the garage. I sprayed the house with this product line's spray. I washed enough clothing and bed linens to survive in Hot water and through a hot dryer. I fogged bedrooms, with this product, on day 2, and day 4. We continued washing and drying EVERY article of clothing we used daily in the morning and evening. In addition to the bed linens. Day 4: We found a single dead bug. We also vacuumed the house daily. Day 5: fogged the entire house . all closets and drawers empty. Day 8 fogged bedrooms. Day 13: Fogged entire house again. Have seen no signs. We continued to work from a very small amount of clothing every day. We washed and dried daily, or sooner. SO far, so good.
