oven does not hold temp, heat escapes through back of oven and comes out vent. Vent becomes so hot you can not touch top of stove.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PJ Great little stove
I bought this because I needed to replace my old stove and it had a high review rating. I am very happy with it. The only thing I don't like is that there are two element grates as opposed to individual grates. Otherwise it's a really great stove.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pammy Perfect fit for historic cottage
We were searching for a small, efficient gas range that would fit authentically into our historic Spanish cottage. We wanted simplicity of style and use, with the modern convenience of responsive, efficient burners and easy cleanup. This 24" Hotpoint gas range fit our needs perfectly, and Home Depot was able to provide and deliver it with exceptional service within the short term notice that we needed.
The two burner racks are light weight and cover two burners which makes for easy cleanup. The oven is big enough for a turkey roaster or a large cookie sheet. The temperature control was accurate and baked my batch of cookies evenly.
This charming, little range has no complicated electronic controls but is extremely efficient for modern use.
We were very satisfied with the range and the service.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kapete Good value, sturdy range
My goal was to find a safe, low budget 24" range that put quality-over-features. I'm very happy with this choice. I like the large, hefty grates that each cover two burners. The stove ignites easily, is safely pilot-less, (my old stove's pilot blew out frequently and had no automatic gas shut-off sensor) and the knobs have a solid feel to them. It is heavy enough so that the range is stable and firmly weighted to the floor, unlike the similarly priced Avanti that can tip forward when its door is open (which is why the Avanti requires a wall bracket). I like its subtly curved, clean-line appearance, too. The delivery was prompt. Home Depot installation and old range removal was a bargain. Factor that into the total price and nothing else comes close to this value.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by richard nice compact cooker
Nice compact cooker though more expensive because it was smaller than standard USA range. Had to get replacement grills though due to them not being correctly finished. Having said that replacements were received within a couple of days.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Kate THis apt. size gas range is attractive and functional, but its quality is somewhat disappointing
Hi, The range is attractive and is a great size. It is easy to cook on. I have only had it two weeks. I am writing today to HD to see if they can send me a replacement grill, because one (of two) does not lay flat, because the grill is bent. I will see if they comply. The range needs to be secured to the wall or floor with a bracket, and my contractor failed to do this, so I will have to hire someone to do this because otherwise, the range vibrates every time we walk nearby on the wooden floor. For having cost around $600, I would have expected a better quality range. The metal material it is made of seems thin (tinny) and lighter than I had expected. The white metal part of the range has already been chipped. I think it was overpriced when I bought it in March. With the install kit, it cost me over $600. I see it is on sale now for a bit less. An appropriate, fair price would be $400.

Basically, you get what you pay for here. I was looking for the cheapest 24" range available, and this was it.
So chintzy that I had to be very careful when moving it, and search for a safe spot to pick it up where it didn't feel like it would fall apart.
Burner grids are very high, worse still, pans are prone to slide like ice on this thing. There ought to be some guards or texture to stop them from doing this.
Also noticed a very large gap between the broiler door and the stove, large enough to stick your thumb through.
Maybe its designed like this for ventilation ? In any case, alot of heat escapes due to this.
It does cook though, and for the $$ I'm not complaining.
