CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.5 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by To everyone saying its loud... Did you remove the shipping bar? I recently purchased this machine and I love it! I was told however to be sure to remove the shipping bar as it would cause the machine to "jump like its possessed" if I didn't remove it! October 9, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid, reliable top load washer We bought an expensive Samsung FRONT load washer a year ago. Our clothes started to smell mildewy or like a sour dishcloth AFTER washing. We found out these new front loaders have an issue with the seal of the door not drying out. We tried everything to mitigate. After a year, we gave up and bought this Hotpoint TOP load washer from Home Depot's web site. The ribbed wash tub is large. OUR CLOTHES NOW SMELL FRESH!! I could not be happier with our Hotpoint top load washer. It is just a rock solid, dependable work horse and a huge value for the price. May 21, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst washer ever! The balance was always off. I live in a two family house that both unit's laundry is in the basement. I would have to wait for the neighbors to leave because it was so loud, I felt bad they would have to listen to that. The agitator (I'm guessing that's what it's called... the middle piece that helps spin the clothes) always got clothes caught underneath it, pulling strings out of pants and hoodies, stretching out arms of clothes. every 2 months or so, the washer would make a burning smell and then completely stop spinning. Thankfully I got the warranty because it was the motor. FOUR times the motor went out. I haven't even had the washer for a year, and am now buying a new one with the gift card to home depot issued through the warranty, for "beyond repair." Not to mention, the whole electrical panel had to be replaced where the knobs are, and the tub itself had to be replaced. I will NEVER buy a Hotpoint ever again! What a lemon! January 26, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Washer Does not work as I wish the way does the washing won't buy this item or recommended February 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor washer I purchased this washing machine about 8 months ago. It is the worst washer I have every purchased. I'm thinking about donating it to a homeless shelter so I can buy a different one. Pros: I don't have to wash clothing at a laundry mat (I think they are unhygienic). The machine is easy to use. The cycles are quick. It looks clean and I like the bright white color. I can add soap while the machine is filling. Cons: The washer doesn't get clothes clean. Work stains, kid stains, strong orders are not removed with this washer. There is no delicate cycle and even worse the drum doesn't fill all the way up during the rinse cycle. It is hard to remove makeup or dirt from towels because there is no heavy duty cycle so you end up with white towels that appear dingy and unclean even when used with bleach. The only difference between the heavy and light options is time but not the performance. June 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by hunk of working junk loud loud loud after wash number 3, sounds like a car going in to gear horrible agitation to the point no matter what setting its uneven, after 4 months of owning i have had 4 even loads that have stayed that way no matter how i load it! when it goes off balance it nearly rips from the wall across the room in 3 loud bangs! now all it does is bang in almost every cycle just not enough to rip from wall, i thought i hated doing laundry before lol this had made the laundromat look appealing! however it does clean the laundry and it still works for a family of 6. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Just got the new washer. I ordered online, and it was delivered in two days. Have used it several times, and could not be more pleased January 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotpoint Washer HTWP1200DWW The first time we put a load of wash and turned it on it ran fine through all the cycles until it got to the Drain & Spin cycle. It sounded like someone was using a jack hammer in our basement it was so loud. July 4, 2012
