Customer Questions & Answers

Do your clothes get very twisted as some have reported?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes they do. Very tangled with other clothes You have to pull practically all the clothes out to untangle them..I'm on my second washer.I hate the new models. Fabric softener does not mix,it leaves marks on clothes. Can't open door right away when it's not level.Water levels do not work the way they should. Sometimes when you have to stop the machine and then when you close it ,it will start filling again. One time the water got so high i didn't think it was going to stop.If its suppose to be a water saver forget it. You have to use 2 rinses to get the fabric softener off the clothes. My other washer is a Maytag bravo.I wasn't to crazy about that one either. The new computerized models (pardon me) stink..The don't work like the should.Give me the good older type with the agitators, where you can adjust things the way you want. Its sad because we are not going to find them at all soon. Besides do you realize how confusing it is for an elderly person to use the new type washers?

Does this Machine come with hoses? It says yes in the specifications, but then asks you if you want to add hoses when you add it to your cart.

I have tried using it for a few months now. Luckily i still have my old washer which is a 30 year old Hotpoint and it is a far better washer. This washer does not spin after it finishes the wash phase and drains. The agitator speed is slow. It does not agitate fast enough to make suds. The drain time is excessive. This leaves dirty water in the clothes. Then it barely puts any water in it to rinse. It tears up the clothes by agitating without enough water, doing a dry rinse. In effect it has no rinse. Finally it drains and spins. "It spins ok." That is the only thing it does right (spins). Sometimes during washing, the tub will move instead of the agitator. It is noisy, squeaks a lot and water is slow to fill. If the lid is opened the clock keeps running and when the lid is closed again, the agitator goes through unnecessary movements before it starts again. Put a magnet on the door switch to see this. WARNING: The clock turned off does not stop agitator movement, only the door switch. The only way to use this washer is by manually operating it. I let it wash and drain then stopping the clock and turning the knob to spin. Then for the rinse, doing it all again.

Pros Cost, works great, normal noise level I have always used top load washers because you can stop them easily mid cycle. I get the whitest whites in my family because I use bleach and let it soak for a few hours before running the cycle. You are able to do that easily with this washer. It has been very reliable for me and has been working great for over a year. Cons It is so good, it rips clothing. On both normal settings, soaking or not soaking, it seems to rip clothes easily. If it didnt rip at least one garmet a month, it would be 5 stars. Maybe its just my washer, but this things is meant for some serious dirt. I would buy it again despite this issue, just because it cleans so well.

Have owned it for a little over a year and have nothing but problems. Called out the service man because of an out of balance spin problem. He said it was operating normally. Told my wife it needed to be loaded properly. I thought she was going to kill him on the spot! She is 71 years old. We can't leave it unattended or it will walk out the door. Today is the last straw. I would not spin the water out of a load of whites. I will never purchase another Hotpoint product again.

I've had service technicians out three times now over the past month, and now have to go through GE, which took forever to talk with them the first time. They mentioned hot water should be between 105-110 degrees. Tried an idea of theirs (to fill the tank with the top closed. And the water is still cold. Not sure yet what they'll do, but will update my review when they get back to me. I'm giving it two stars because when we need cold water clothes cleaned, we haven't had a problem. But if you're looking for a washing machine with Hot or Warm water options, you may want to look elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not use enough water, no HOT water! I just got this delivered and did my first load. 1st disappointment: Does not use enough water. Fills about halfway for each load size. On Super size, fills about 6-7 inches below top of basin. Wanted NON-HE washer because I believe water IS necessary to wash clothes properly. 2nd disappointment: Barely agitates. The agitatator barely moves. Don't see how clothes can get clean this way. Although, it IS VERY quiet. That is because it is barely working. 3rd disappointment: Does not use hot water when hot water is selected. Lukewarm at best. I shut off the cold water and hot came through, but this machine is regulated not to use hot water! This machine will be returned tomorrow.
