Does the cord come with the Hot Point Range. We looked on your website and priced the Hot Point Range and it said we have to buy a cord?

Asked by: Anonymous
No, the cord does not come with the range. You do have to purchase your own cord, or use your old one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding value Just received this Electric Range yesterday and couldn't be happier with the purchase. It has a very large oven with even heating, burners heat up quickly, large digital clock, timer, a handy drawer for storing baking/broiling pans and a nice oven light. It's Bisque color fits in with our other appliances as well. Again, I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hot Point electric range Stove has a nice appearance. I like the black standing out. I had to calabrate the oven temperature as it was off 30 degrees. The instructions were very easy to follow. Had no trouble resetting the temp. Would recomend this range.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, standard range I've had this range for just about a year. It replaced a 15 year old Hotpoint that had had it's door shattered by clumsy workmen. It is essentially the same as my old range, with some minor differences, some good, some not so good. On the good side is that the rangetop has been slightly redesigned to make it easier to clean. The oven light is now accessed by removing screws to change the bulb; previously it had a screw-on glass cover - great in theory, but subject to getting stuck and frozen in place in practice. The self-cleaning feature is now pretty automatic. Set the timer for how long of a cycle you want, and when the timer goes off, the range is ready to unlock and open. No waiting for the "LOCK" light to go off. On the minus, the controls now require an extra step - pressing "START" after you've set the oven temperature. The timer only times in whole minutes, which is the one feature of the old one I miss the most. My old one had a "surface light" which was more of an "accent light" if anything, and I don't miss it at all. The new unit seems to take longer for the oven to preheat than the old one, but maybe not. The storage drawer under the oven is o.k., except for the handle, which is hard to grasp due to it's design. The old range and this one both had electronic touchpad controls for the oven. After 15 or so years, the touchpad on the old range worked fine, but the "UP" button was wearing out, though functional. You should get good use out of the control pad on the new one. This, of course, is made by GE, and the owner's manual actually is a GE manual and doesn't even mention Hotpoint by name anywhere in it. My big warning is to NEVER try to pull the range put of it's cutout space by pulling on the door handle. That's what my clumsy workmen did with my old one, and the front door shattered. Maintenance on these is a breeze. You can easily replace the oven elements yourself if you need to; I'd rate that job as about a 4 on a 10 point "handyman scale", you can get parts most anywhere. The thing I replace most often on these ranges are the drip pans, because the OEM ones are impossible to clean once you've made a couple of errors. Budget for some drip pans and get the porcelain-on-steel ones and you can clean them in the oven when you do a self-clean cycle. Go for it. It's not a bunch of money and they've been reliable for me - and what has gone wrong has been a do-it-yourself project.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my new Hotpoint model RB757DP We found this electric range to be the only one top rated by ConsumerReports, and it's better than the " very good " across the board test results. So far, everything from cheesecakes and egg custard to a 4" deep lasagna cooked perfectly. There's a bell that lets you know when it's done pre-heating so you can set your timer at the minute it hits temperature: There's a delay start by clock, too. The black on white is pretty attractive, and everything is easy to see. I haven't used the self cleaning cycle yet, or the broil setting since it came with no pan and we haven't got one, but our big test was home made apple pie, and it turned out such an evenly browned crust (without a foil shield!)I could just cry. It's inexpensive, and since we got it from the Depot, it was a total deal. There's nothing wrong with the coil heat, not one single thing, and it holds a perfect simmer to a very low simmer on all of them, which is the make or break function for sauce, chile and decent stew. A lot of coil and smoothtop stoves haven't got that down. The drip pans under the coils are thin and cheap, not well plated, and we've found that they stain up almost immediately, but I don't care. We can replace them and this little Hotpoint is definitely a keeper for performance, looks and value: The Home Depot sold ours for around $400. and we got free delivery. We did have to level the unit ourselves, but it wasn't a problem as the adjusting nuts on the feet were easy to turn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to work very well While I haven't had the range long enough to really test every feature, like the self-cleaning, I'm happy so far. The burners heat evenly, the controls are smoothly variable, the burners come up to temperature quickly and the oven doesn't seem to have any 'hot' or 'cold' spots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from budget purchase Have owned only about 3 weeks. Gets the job done. However appears cheaply made. Must follow up on the warped lower baking rack that is still in the packing tape. The rack material is much thinner and softer than the racks in my former stove. The bottom storage drawer must be opened from the side because there isn't a sufficient finger hold to open from the front. Wish now that I had seen in store first. Delivery was great though.
