A no frills affordable product that does the job. It's a dishwasher that washes dishes like it should. This replaced a model that had buttons and cycles that We never used and only lasted about 2 years. Delivery was easy and installation was a direct fit.

My son is thrilled he doesn't have to wash dishes by hand now. Easy install to replace the DOA one that came with the house. Don't be afraid to make sure the water inlet elbow is tight. I was afraid of breaking something and had to go back and tighten it a couple more turns. No frills I didn't need or want and right within the budget. Thank you Home Depot for being my go-to place!!

it's a dishwasher. Dishes are clean when it has finished cleaning them.. It is not overly loud or long cycle. Seems to work well. Installation was very professional and timely.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Robert There's a lot to be said for mechanical timers
The Dishwasher that We were using was one of those electronic control board types and had developed a mind of it's own, Sometimes The thing would dry and other times it would not. It also would run on for two or three hours and not clean the dishes, Not much of an energy saver. We had it fixed under warranty....But it didn't make any noticeable difference. That's when We decided to start looking for another one and found this new unit online at the Home Depot. I like the mechanical timer feature because It's more reliable and We can see where it's at in the cycle and what it's doing. The new unit can also be opened and closed during a cycle for those forgotten glasses and silverware to be added. The new one also did not come with a sound shield so I just used the one off of the old unit and that was a huge plus. I personally prefer to hear it run anyway. This new Dishwasher goes through a cycle in approximately 45 min. to an hour and the dishes are actually clean and dry !, What more can one ask from a Dishwasher ?

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JRDDRDEMAR Oops--missing a couple of small but important parts!
This model replaced one of those fancier dishwashers that had one of those computerized electronic front panels that burned out after two years. I wanted a machine with a dial that would last! My two complaints have nothing to do with washing the dishes, however (it does a good job at that). My machine arrived missing the two tiny plastic "rack stops," which snap into those metal side pieces and allow the top rack to slide out. Without these pieces, the top rack simply falls out when pulled out when you load or unload the dishwasher. I will be contacting GE and see if they will send me new rack stops, but what an inconvenience. My other concern is that the door drops suddenly when you open the machine, so you have to ease it down by hand.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AmySav good dishwasher
This dishwasher is definitely a downgrade from my previous - stainless steel tub Maytag - BUT this one works. The control panel went out twice in 3 years on the Maytag and I wanted something that didn't have electronic parts. I paid $600 for the Maytag and $200 to have the control panel fixed once. I wasn't throwing anymore money into the money pit Maytag. I paid $245 with tax for this machine. The tub is smaller and it isn't nearly as quiet, but it is an excellent dishwasher. Every time I turn it on; it works. My dishes are very clean. All my appliances are stainless. A can of stainless steel paint and presto change O! I have matching appliances

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wareagle95 Very good for what it is
I downgraded into this product because, quite frankly, i was tired of replacing the electronic PCB controler panel in both of the last two higher end dishwashers I had, and twice breaking the poorly designed non level latching systems they used. This dishwasher has a manual control dial and a metal slide latch..simplicity. The cleaning cycles do a very good job, and the heated dry along with using a product like jet dry does leave spot free glasses. (we do have very soft water locally so your results may vary). While it may seem gauche to some to step back a few decades for appliance controls in an updated kitchen, my view is that simplicity works better than electronic complexity when the entire business of an appliance is hot, steamy, splashing water.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rugerman Excellent Basic Dishwasher
This Hotpoint dishwasher appears to be a design carryover of our 20 year old GE potscrubber machine. Nothing fancy, reliable mechanical controls, a basic no-frills uncomplicated appliance. We lived with the noise level of our old machine and this one is no worse. I paid $229 and I can think of many times that I have shelled out more money and gotten less in return. If you want a quieter washer, stainless steel tall interior tub and electronic controls, this is not the machine for you. When you go looking for those features be prepared for a $500 to $1000 price tag. Hot rod features are not free.
