The unit is very light and easy to install. It has a long wash cycle even when you set it on the shorter 'water saver' setting but it does the job. There's no good place to put long stemmed fancy wine goblets but if that's your problem you should let your sommelier do the choosing. This is one of the few machines that has mechanical controls which somewhat limit your options but are far less likely to cause problems than electronic controls and are less expensive.. My last mechanically controlled unit lasted over 25 years with no repairs. I read some comments about the noise level but I hardly notice it's running.

A dishwasher is a dishwasher, right? Why not save some money and go for the least expensive one, since you don't need anything fancy? WRONG. I regret buying this thing every single day. The first few washes were fine, but after that - it simply doesn't work. It doesn't get the dishes clean! I end up having to rinse AND scrub all the dishes before I put them in the washer ... so what's the point of having a dishwasher?! The inside gets stained easily. I've used all sorts of different dishwashing detergents to see if that would help: nope. I WANTED to like this dishwasher, really I did. But it just does NOT cut it. Spend a little more money and get a better one. You will be grateful!!!

Pros: I didn't purchase this my landlord did.
Cons: Unfortunately the old washer was replaced, this item works slightly better than the broken one (I wished they fixed the old one) Although the same size, due to the arrangement of the carrier for the dishes, it handles perhaps 30% less items. For that reason, we need to use once a day, meaning more water, and electrical consumption. Be careful since the water spout is only below, nothing above, so this doesn't clean well. You get what you pay for, so go with any extended warranty because this isn't going to last long.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ercarguy GREAT value!
I know 5 stars may be hard to believe given the cheap price, but the review is accurate. I got this for our current place but will soon be a rental. It runs great and cleans great! People who complain about it's cleaning ability clearly don't know how to load a dishwasher. It came with a new drain hose, but you'll have to get a water supply kit if you don't have the correct plumbing in place and plan to install it yourself. That would be the case with a much more expensive model too, so I can't fault it for anything.
Overall, you can't beat the quality and performance for the price!

Bought this unit because it is very similar to my 20YO GE that gave faithful service, and it was still running. Wanted to go ahead and replace the old to match other newer appliances in my kitchen. No bells or whistles here, but gets the dishes clean. Very quiet compared to old unit. Simple rotary dial means less to break down. Install was straight-forward, and I did it myself. If you are looking for the latest electronic touch-pad technology, this is not the unit for you. If you are looking to load, turn the dial, and get clean dishes, you can't beat the price.

Inexpensive dishwasher, it does not cost much and does not clean much either. If you are the type that washes the dishes by hand before loading the dishwasher then this is for you. I am one that likes to do a quick rinse to get rid of big chunks before loading and when the washer is done those big chunks are still there( been transferred to the top rack). The top rack is a pain to fit coffee mugs in it won't hold bowls in a position where they get cleaned good. You get what you pay for with this machine. It is though very simple to operate and a trained monkey could use it.

I was in the market for a basic, no nonsense dishwasher, which is why I chose this model. Install was fairly easy, however I would caution those with limited or no mechanical abilities to have it professionally installed. Some on here complained of the noise level of the machine, in my opinion the noise level was normal. I ran the machine empty , twice, upon completion of first run I detected a slightly "off" odor within the tub, upon completion of second run, interior smelled clean. Tomarrow I will load it with dishes for its first official run, so more on that later.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JRDDRDEMAR Oops--missing a couple of small but important parts!
This model replaced one of those fancier dishwashers that had one of those computerized electronic front panels that burned out after two years. I wanted a machine with a dial that would last! My two complaints have nothing to do with washing the dishes, however (it does a good job at that). My machine arrived missing the two tiny plastic "rack stops," which snap into those metal side pieces and allow the top rack to slide out. Without these pieces, the top rack simply falls out when pulled out when you load or unload the dishwasher. I will be contacting GE and see if they will send me new rack stops, but what an inconvenience. My other concern is that the door drops suddenly when you open the machine, so you have to ease it down by hand.
